Hitch can play any of the three LB positions. Jaylon needs to work in just one or two packages and get 10-15 snaps per game. It looked to me like Wilson got benched last week, so this would seem a win-win.

why not switch a freaking 3-4? DO IT...stick him, lee, jaylon and hitch on the field at the same time

He's 29 and under contract through 2022.
His cap numbers the next few years would be:
2017 - $6.75M
2018 - $8.7M
2019 - $2.55M
2020 - $5.85M
2021 - $7.65M
2022 - $8.5M

He'll probably cost more than the Cowboys would be willing to give up. Plus, it would be admitting Jaylon Smith wasn't ready.

How much of that would stay with the 49ers?
