I just don't understand why Chaz Green is still the starter at LG. The line play has been sloppy because there is no consistency with Green in the lineup one week Cooper in the lineup the next week. I know some will say it's because Green is better, the best way to get consistency is to play the player who is health and available each week (Cooper). The Oline will continue to struggle because of this constant changing, go with the dependable player and let the Oline gel. Hopefully Green will this time stay healthy.

Where did you see Chaz is starting. Last I heard it was Coop.

Staying on the offensive side of the ball, the team listed Chaz Green as the starter at left guard over Jonathan Cooper now that Green is fully healthy from a hip injury he sustained a few weeks ago. Yet Cooper has been much more effective as the starter, scoring a 77.9 from Pro Football Focus against Green Bay, and would likely fair much better against 49ers defensive tackle DeForest Buckner who has been a monster since entering the league in 2016. With the Cowboys entering desperation mode and facing a get-right game against San Francisco, Green will likely be on a short leash.

They both are jags.......this team really botched the oline, took what was the heart and sole of this team and totally botched it.

Nice work
This team has been in the habit of looking at scraping the bottom of the wine barrel for the good scrapes and telling each other- we water this scrape of goodness down, we have a bottle of wine, but it doesn't work like that at this level.

The exceptional excel. the mediocre are worse when up against the exceptional, even when coached up.

Time for this team to realize that talent trumps. Let's get some real talent on this D and quit depending on an ancient mummy to coach them up.
Want to showcase the OL? You don't treat replacements of good players with nobodies and never-beens.
And that was/is the body of this team. You'd think they'd give more attention to that part, but you'd think they'd give more love to the D also...

It is a status thing. It takes a lot for a "starter" to get benched in Dallas.

That is part of the issue with this team, pecking order is often established based on draft status and contract size.

Chaz Green is a player that needs to be let go. He's the epitome of a tease and teases are what they are: a tease, never a full fruition.

This coaching staff needs to gain another level of stratagem both short and long term.
The staff has nothing to do with it when the top brass don't want to admit a draft mistake and demote and/or cut the player.

Green and Heath have a standing shuffle board game weekly at the Garrett household.

There's no reason to cut Green.

Just use him for what he is............ a nice swing tackle that you plan on using maybe 2-3 times a year. That's it.

The staff, not surprisingly, thinks he's more than that. But then again this is a staff that stuck with guys like Hayden and are now riding Heath like he's Ronnie Lott out there.

Two very mystifying issues. Cooper not starting over Green, you might be able to make some sort of primitive case.

The real crime is Jeff Heath continuing to start over a clearly superior player in Woods. It is just gross.

I don't think Chaz needs to be cut, I just think they need to quit trying to make the square peg fit into the round hole. He is NOT an NFL guard. There is not a sin in that. He is better as a tackle than he will ever be as a guard. Leave him as the swing tackle, put Cooper in at Guard and be done with it.

Draft position shouldn't make a difference....you either can play or you can't .

The other thing is it shouldn't take all first rounders to make a good OL. And let's be real, Collins was a first rounder skill wise. Other teams survive with maybe one or two first rounders and then piece the rest together.

The excuse appears to be that Woods is still raw and not ready to make plays in the running game.

So what? Heath can't make plays in his primary responsibility, the passing game. If he's so good in the run game, then crap, make him the MLB. LOL.

So Jerry walks in and says who plays week per week? "Old boy starts at so and so because I walked in and said so."
That's what you're saying?

The diehards will disagree but this offseason really was just a huge miss by the front office. They seemed to have cushioned a complete tumble into the abyss by having drafted Lewis, Awuzie and Woods, who appear to all be capable of playing. But they whiffed on Heath. They whiffed on Green at LG and LG in general. They whiffed on Carroll. They knew they had some depth issues at LB and did nothing. They knew they had some issues at the 1 tech and are biting on it now.

Just a really disappointing offseason from a team that went 13-3 and was likely one Byron Jones knocked pass from maybe winning in OT and making the NFC Title game.

Cheapness and stupidity ruled the offseason.
