How could one complain about trading up to get a franchise QB? And further, I don't think many would complain if we traded up to get our franchise QB and then turned around and got our first rounder back when we traded one of our roster QBs.

There you go with your facts again!

If the Salary Cap era started sooner our franchise would probably have zero superbowls..

The Eagles get a pass for playing practically no one. When the Cowboys had their 11 game winning streak last year, they weren't given the benefit of the doubt that the Eagles are. Yeah, their front office is great until they get exposed like they do every year.

Because the eagles actually have a defense.

yes johnson seemingly will be the lt.

Dallas was 13-3 in part because of the strategy of sticking to home grown players. So its what they do, its what GB does and Pittsburgh. This is the model they use.

The giants, saints, skins etc are going to sign a ton of free agents and have older players. That is how they operate. Dallas does not anymore.

and for the record I would like to see us aggressive today and in the offseason defensively. We need a more physical nature on defense.

GB uses FA. For example, they grabbed a guy like Julius Peppers years ago when they thought they needed better edge play. People keep pushing this myth and it's just not true.

You can use FA and still build the core of your team through FA. It's bizarre that people keep arguing otherwise. Even more bizarre is that you then agree that they need to be more aggressive outside of just the draft.

we have used free agency. morris, mcfadden, cooper, bell, durant. You just dont like how they have used it.

and green bay dos not use free agency as much as you are implying. yes they signed peppers. guess what dallas wanted to sign peppers too but he he chose gb....just like chris long chose new england last year

When you are a franchise that's not won anything in 22 years, what do you have to lose by going all out? Nothing, you haven't won in 22 years.
This off season will go down as the worst off season in Dallas Cowboys history. Cheap &&& Jerry and his formidable dumb staff decided that it was in the team's best interests to save money and get rid of guys who got you to 13-3. Meanwhile, parking sales are sky rocketing.

Philly went all out for Wentz, I always say good job to guys who pull the string on a would be franchise QB. It's working out for them big time at the moment. We spend our money on a wide receiver who jumps over people for TDs, until of course he can't anymore.

For quality players. Everyone you listed was a bargain bin player, likely on their last legs or cast aside by their current team. You are damn right, I don't like how they use FA. Their FA plan is hit the bargain bin and hope that instead of pulling out a Carroll or Moore - guys who stink, they just get lucky and find a decent player.

When was the last time we signed a FA that actually had some real suitors and was considered a mid to upper level FA? Carr? I guess Hardy counts but no one wanted to touch his stink.

Do they? They haven't played anybody. At least that's the logic applied to us.

You really arguing that the Eagles don't have a good defense? There is no comparison between what they have on defense this year and what we had on defense last year.

I mean I can only say it so many times. The strategy is to draft, develop and sign your own guys. Then mix in quality free agents who can help and have a role. This way the big money stays with the guys you signed and developed.

again, you dont like the way they have used free agency so you say they havent used it.

which is fine by the way.

What are you struggling to grasp here? Of course their strategy is to draft and then hit the bargain bin at KMart and hope like hell they get lucky. Not surprisingly, their bargain bin dives this past offseason were a disaster.

I know what they do. What I am saying is it's flawed, it hurt them this season and they sure as poop better change it this offseason.

Link or it didn't happen.

It was said early in FA we "had interest" but never got beyond that. We had interest in a lot of players according to the media that we never really wanted to sign. Most likely, if they did have interest, they probably low balled him to the point that in reality, they weren't all that interested in him.

Which probably highlights more of their flaw in FA. They set a price for a spot they want to fill and then just shove anyone in there that comes under that limit.

So if they wanted an edge rusher, they probably only wanted to spend $3MM. When Peppers was clearly going to cost more, they stopped having interest. It's why it's laughable to suggest the Cowboys have interest in guys.

Cowboys fans really are the same as Eagles fans. Rampant inferiority complex leading to the continued discussion of a team unrelated to ours

Trades for Wentz, Darby, Ajayi. FA signings like Jeffrey and T Smith. Meanwhile, we sign Paea and Nolan Carroll and make no trades. And reach for guys like Taco...
Just my opinion, but Ajayi is much overrated. I saw him in person at Dolphins vs Jets last week while in Miami. The guy hits the ground the instant he is touched and not sure why. Monster game or two last year but nothing going on this year.

try google. He was cut in chicago. I remember we signed melton and wanted to bring in peppers but he went right to GB.
I think you are thinking about Jared Allen. That did happen.
