Deion Sanders fires back at Tony Romo's comment about his tackling **merged**

Deion is the one that came up with the expression 'business decision'

now he has the gall to be offended?

Truly classless POS

Deion says he gets on Tony because of the post-season but I distinctly remember Cowboys fans getting mad at Deion for taking little pot shots at Troy back when they were both playing. I liked Deion as a player but I disregarded his opinions long before Tony came around.

Cowboy QB's to join forces, Tony needs to get Troy onboard ASAP! During Troy's next broadcast he needs to make a similar comment regarding Deion's business decisions. Guaranteed Deion will have dick to say to Troy as Troy has so much material on Deion and his Cowboy days.

Deion's response was really over the top and meant to hurt badly, it just tells you that Deion is feeling a little inferior these days. At the end of the day I do not believe it bothered Romo one bit as he sees that he really got under Deion's skin. Romo will one day soon be in the ROH, be a Cowboy for life and Deion will be on the outside looking in. Loved Deion as a player but his crap is getting old, best cb ever.

Theebs- I've never learned to use the search post function. What # post is the backstory on the Sanders-Romo feud? I apologize.

No feud from what I've seen over the years, just that they're Romo haters and Faulk is a Cowboys hater.

If Romo made the comment intentionally, he can certainly be satisfied with Sanders' foolish reaction.

If Romo did not intentionally mean to offend with the comment, he received a response that was disproportionate in relation to what he said.

Romo has little, if any, reason to be concerned about the matter whatsoever. On the other hand, Sanders' handling (and possible continued handling) of the non-issue is a totally different matter.

I don't disagree. I think he tried to take a dig at Deion. But it wasn't as if no one else has said the same. In fact, I remember on one of those documentaries done about Deion (around the time of his induction into the Hall of Fame), the Niners sidelines noticed that Deion shied away from tackling Roger Craig. And the sideline starts yelling, "Don't be afraid to tackle, don't be afraid to tackle." And Deion turns to them and says, "Don't be afraid to make that MONEY!"

I wish I could find that segment on the Internet.

Deion is a punk, always have been and always will be. Great cover guy, will not tackle with your pads, Romo dis not say anything that was not true, Deion should have admitted it like he has done before and smiled and moved on. Romo was not taking a shot at him, he actually was giving him and Peters a compliment. Besides Romo has never taken any shots at Deion. I wonder what he will say when Romo rcvs a Gold Jacket

Here is a hall of famer who said Sanders could not tackle well.

The positions I played, every play, I was making contact, not like that ... Deion Sanders," Bednarik said. "He couldn't tackle my wife. He's back there dancing out there instead of hitting."

Man Deion doesn't care about a guy who played before the invention of color TV, plus Bednarik is a HOFer so he can talk but to take criticism from a guy that was just "good" is another thing.

Deion’s lame clap back was effectively a nonsequitar in response to what Romo said. Someone should tell Deion that two things can be equally true: 1) What he said about Romo was true and; 2) he was a pathetic tackler.

The reality of #1 doesn’t change the reality of #2.

Sanders apparently has a personal beef about Romo. Aikman said the same thing and it is well known that Sanders doesn't like people bringing that up. Sanders himself referred to that perception in his HOF induction speech.
"I will leave you with this. Many of my naysayers said, you know, Prime didn't tackle, but show me some film where I didn't or where I hurt my team. But I want to respond to that publicly because that affects me, it bothers me. That's insinuating that I'm soft, and I've got kids.

Since 1989, I've tackled every bill my mama has ever given me, haven't missed one. The next time they say Prime didn't tackle, make sure you let them know, yes, he did."

But that's the point. Romo didn't have to name one. He was making an observation about Marcus Peters.
It would be equivalent to Joe Buck watching Eli Manning throwing a late pick and saying, "He just pulled a Romo."
If Buck did that, this forum would explode and call it a gratuitous shot.

More like when people would call Romo's gunslinger days Favre-esque. The point is that Favre is beyond reproach, as is Deion, and the comparison is flattering. Deion clearly doesn't see himself as beyond reproach, hence his need to respond to Romo. Really Deion is jealous that Romo has one of the best jobs in Deion's business and that Deion is now less valuable than Romo.

Saying Deion can't tackle is like saying Shaq can't shoot free throws. I'm not sure why Deion got so butt hurt about it. "Ringz Erneh!" "Playoff record"

Maybe Prime should be more focused about getting his refund from the people who performed his Botox injections and hair-transplant than what Romo did in his career. Starting to look the dude from Star Trek these days smh.

I

disagree on, Deion cost us superbowls imo, because he made enough money that cost us the services of multiple starters and backups for us. That's one of the reasons we went downhill so fast
Good point.
