Will there be a plot, or just kill, kill, kiill. Marvel movies we know have plots for the most part.

One criticism I have of all of them. The heroes battle against the throngs of faceless CGI creatures is getting old. I'd like to see a movie that actually puts faces on the villains the heroes fight. A bad guy team with a personality going against the good guys, rather than throngs of monsters, creatures, robots, whatever getting smashed and destroyed.

Sure it's easier, but it's also lazier and less impactful.

Not sure. Honestly. I am in this one solely for the action.

I agree with that criticism.

I think at some phase they will have to fight villains.

To be fair, some have done hero vs villain.
When it’s a bunch of heroes Ie. Avengers and Justice League.. it gets thick.

I'm hoping to see the Avengers fight not only Thanos, but his Black Order as well. I've had my fill of mindless minions only thrown out there to be ineffective and demolished.

I am waiting with bated breath. I still believe the original 90's post-Superman death villain, Mongul, would have been better than Darkseid and his forces of Apokolips but we will see.

Maybe it is just me but I think Jason Momoa will impress audiences as Aquaman. Perhaps that is just gas. Who knows?

I mentioned this before. The blonde hair lame aquaman had a very low bar.

Mamoa “fixed” the character imo.

I agree that Momoa may solidify the Aquaman on-screen persona but not too sure a different actor's looks would not have worked. The young actor (i forget his name) who played the character on Smallville years ago really looked the part. Maybe it was more due to him not wearing the old Superfriends uniform--swim trunks and skin, mainly--basically, a Namor/The Submariner look. Then again, the strip down to skin would not work for DCU methinks.

It's funny. The thought crossed my mind that they would consider Momoa when the Justice League rumors originally started. He was pretty good as the rogue heroic alien in Stargate: Atlantis. I dismissed the idea because I thought his Conan The Barbarian flop would nix it for him. Glad to see it didn't.

Meh, it seems pretty universal that the villians are lame. That's what made Civil was so compelling, heroes against themselves.

I saw Thor this weekend and the villian is ultimately as forgettable as any of the others but I had a great time.

Between origin and introduction stories for the heroes, the villains always get the short shrift.

But I think that the few that survive - like Loki - actually end up being compelling characters. But yeah, they're few and far between.

The usual pattern is that they're killed off in the same movie they're introduced.

Yeah, maybe Momoa will uplift the Aquaman role, like Jackman did for Wolverine, and Bernthal did for the Netflix Punisher. Never cared for those characters in the comics, but those particular actors really did the trick. And certainly, Momoa was not the problem in Conan; those issues were much higher up the chain. Momoa was perfect casting for Conan, which made the film an even sadder waste.

He seems to be getting the "cool guy" treatment based on the trailers. Although I don't know who ever thought that his smashing through and popping out of the side of the building was a good scene. That looks dumb, dumb, dumb to me.

But overall, I'm with you, I think he's set up to be the cool badass coming out of this one. Just in time to see him in his solo movie!

Do we not allow for any comic book scenes ripped of the pages and applied to big screen?

Some, sure. I've see nothing plenty of comic book scenes where people smashed through buildings. Never so conveniently however. Do you have an example to show us where the laws of physics were completely abandoned like in this movie?

“A lot of the work was integrating the two tones and making it feel like one movie,” said an anonymous production source.
That worries me...
Although early screenings were not successful, the newly-polished Justice League has reportedly earned test scores in the same ball park as Wonder Woman
...but that makes me feel a bit better.
Right now the priority is...blah blah blah ...and two different Joker movies (one with Jared Leto and Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, and director Todd Phillips’ unconnected solo Joker movie set in the ’80s).
DC/Warner Bros can be so freaking stupid sometimes! :banghead: They do this ALL THE TIME with their animated straight-to-video movies. Why do they think it will work as mainstream releases?

I'm not sure either project will ever see the light of day. There's talking and then there's action. Based on the reported budget of this film, I still think a lot of things are yet to be decided.

They also thought they were making a Green Lantern 2.

And Fox had plans for a Fantastic Four 2 as well.

so far aquaman and put in this light and not the green and gold fish tights is the only reason i put any hope into this at all. the rest are dead weight to me, except for cyborg. he has potential.

wish they'd have put firestorm in.
