A strange atmosphere for Thursday night's game

Normally I would agree Idgit, but desperate times call for desperate measures..............................GARRETT HAS TO GO

Losing to the Skins will help that along. Maybe missing the playoffs wont get him canned this year, but missing the playoffs this year and next year just might do it;)

Its not a matter of priorities, its a matter of hatred......think about it......you have a vast majority of life long Cowboy fans openly rooting for blowout losses every week in hopes Clappy the Clown will get fired. Don't believe me? Put a poll up on the front page asking if the fans want to get blown out if it helps Garrett get fired either this year or next. I guarantee you dam close to 90% of this board would say yes.

Popular consensus thinks McDonalds Hamburgers are edible and the Walking Dead as one of the most watchable shows on tv. Popular consensus isn't a measure of what's smart.

At the end of the day, you're Cowboys fans, cheering against the Cowboys. And for the Commanders. However it's rationalized, there's no coming back from that.

The belief that losing will enact a likely positive future result is a fallacy.

Its all we got bro, its all we got.

Look, each fan needs to seriously ask the question, "Is Jason Garrett a good enough coach to get this team to the SuperBowl".

Now if you are Idgit, and I like Idgit for the record and I think he is a good guy, he obviously say yes. And if that is how he feels, I have no problem with that. However, if somebody else ask this question and comes to a "no" conclusion, then all we are doing is just wasting time and careers (see Tony Romo).

And if you are in the "no" camp, the only way to get rid of a head coach that cannot get the job done is by losing. I am sorry to say that, but its true. Losing games is the only way to get rid of Jason Garrett.

Now does this mean the next head coach will be any better if Jerry Jones is the one doing the hiring? Maybe yes, maybe no. However, I know what we got right now aint gonna win us jack so I might as well roll the dice and see if the next puppet Jerry hires can get the job done because this one cant.

I havent missed a significant part of a Cowboys game since 2004....but I will miss the first half, at least, of this one due to work....normally Id ask for either the whole day off or leave early, but the way we're playin it just aint worth losin the money...especially with a new car payment lol......

I have to disagree my friend. Its like in a post I made to DallasEast.................I said that every fan has to ask themselves the question "Is Jason Garrett a good enough coach to get this team to the SuperBowl".?

Obviously you think so and I have no problem with that, you are entitled to your opinion just like anybody else. However, if another fan says "no" and that is truly and honestly how they feel, then their main goal is to help the team by getting a new head coach and losing games is the only way to accomplish that.

I think each position, yours and the ones that say no, can each be argued equitably and it doesn't make anybody less of a fan if they are doing what they think is in the best interest of the team.

Nobody's saying you're less of a fan for rooting for the Commanders to beat the Cowboys. Only that it's a stupid thing to do and entirely against the point of rooting for a team in the first place. It's the Commanders you're talking about. Cowboys fans don't root for the Commanders to beat the Cowboys.

And since it's not the only path to getting what you say you want, you really should find another way. Root for the team to turn on the staff publicly if you have to. Root for Jason to lose it and attack Jerry in a press conference. Root for TMZ pics of Jason and Gene to surface. But don't root for the Eagles or Skins to beat the Cowboys on the field.

This game has all the excitement of the 3rd pre-season game. You figure you are going to see the starters for a half on both teams as both teams are already starting to evaluate the rest of the roster to see what they have.

TMZ picks of Jason and Gene....................I am going to have nightmares just thinking about that:laugh:

Always want the Boys to win, but have grown numb to the L's this season with all the injuries, and the kabuki theater going in the league overall, and the Zeke situation....

Fan since the 60's so have seen the real lows before, and the glory days of Landry and Jimmy J .....but this one feels very different......

Unless the next coach is able to bring in his own staff, it won't matter if garrett gets canned. That's what so many of you don't realize

Does rooting influence others? Yes. Cheering can be felt as inspirational by those it was directed towards when it can be heard.

Does rooting against others effect them? Yes. Booing can be thought as disparaging to those hearing it. Normally.

I say to anyone knock themselves out if they are attending the same game as Jerry Jones and root against the Dallas Cowboys. People should discover for themselves whether booing his team will effect him as they think it shall. Maybe booing will have the EXACT cause-and-effect anticipated. Perhaps booing will have the EXACT opposite effect. Possibly there may be variations of an anticipated result as a consequence. Who knows? For those folks I say GO for it and find out.

What can be said to anyone cheering against the team whom Jones cannot hear? I do not know. Maybe... “Good luck making Jones do what you want him to do from your couch! Hey! Check this out! The tooth fairy is real! My granddaughter found a quarter under her pillow and no one put it there! Amazing! I bet if I sit on my sofa and yell REALLY REALLY hard for Santa to give me a Porsche, it will be sitting in my driveway for CHRISTMAS! Life is magical!!!”

Humans.

Amen. Still could never cheer for any of the division rivals.

When the time comes, I don't think that will be a problem.

Finding the right HC in a volatile market is the challenge.

A&M has just thrown $7.5 mil per year at Fisher, so that raises the bar for top tier D1 coaches; they'll be reluctant to go pro if the pot is that sweet.
They can recruit on their name and past success, create more depth and less roster worries than the NFL, and be the king of their school.

If I were a HC, I'd choose that venue over the NFL, but I prefer amateur sports in general.
I realize that big bucks are involved at all levels; I just think that too high a percentage of paid athletes become tainted by the money, as do many other entertainers.

That's the awful truth right now. And don't blame fans who are frustrated with his ineptitude, blame Garrett for being inept.

Garrett is the eighth-longest tenured head coach in the NFL; six of the seven who have been in their position longer than Garrett have won at least one Super Bowl.

I'm rooting for the Cowboys AND a new coach.

^^^THIS^^^

And all this Horse Hockey of rooting for another team to win vs the Cowboys is just that...Horse Hockey.

Frankly I find the idea of rooting for another team Sickening and I don't care what others think about it.

If you have to root against the team you claim to follow, if you find pleasure in your team losing, if you really want another team to win against the Cowboys...than frankly you are not a fan of the Cowboys IMO no matter how you try to justify your stance.

Like it, Don't like it...up to you.

But I will not find pleasure in my team losing.
I will not root for my team to lose.
I will not cheer on another team to beat my team.
I will not hope a player on my team fails and hurts the team even if I don't like said player.

If you feel the need to try and justify to me that you are a good or great fan by wanting our team to lose no matter the reason...save it. Don't want to hear it and not going to by the bs you are trying to pass on.

Nope.
I hope this team gets better, players, coaches and over records and superbowls.

However I will never hope this team loses and especially doing so with a smile on my face to prove some idiotic point.

If that is what you have to do to sell it to yourself...so be it. I say...Horse Hockey.
