Did Dak Regress?

Idk that regressed is the right word but he had a really good set of circumstances last year that aren’t there this year. I don’t want to say exposed either but your seeing what he is right now without the perfect set of circumstances around him. Right now I would say Dak is an above average game manager at best. He seems like a real student of the game and a natural leader that will work as hard as possible to get better at his craft. Is that going to be enough none of us know and we won’t for a couple of years.

That's like the mot rational, even-handed assessment I have seen. We need more of this on the forum!
I would add that he's had many moments of brilliance which is the hope I hold on to.

Our offense is predicated on great o line play and an elite running game. When those two elements are gone, we make no adjustments and thus our offense looks completely out of sync. This was true of the Romo years as well. We didn't have that 12 and 4 year until we assembled the o line and Demarco Murray had a historic year. Romo even told you that Garrett isn't an X's and O's kind of guy.. so the moment that our O line and running game isn't elite, the offensive gameplan involves either the QB dinking and dunking or doing circus maneuvers to get the ball down the field. This comes from a lack of scheme.

All we can hope for is it doesn't take Dak as many years to get his act together as Romo did we can't waste another half a decade:lmao:

? Romo was a Crayton quit route away from the NFC championship game at home against a team they already beat earlier that same season. That was despite the fact that the Cowboys were dealing with the offensive weapons outside of Romo being extremely ineffective that game outside of Romo's control.

Yea how long will we have to wait for Dak to get to that level. I can't imagine he's good enough to be a fluke play away from a conference championship game against a team he'd already beat that year... oh wait.

And followed that epic season by regressing while Wentz is improving and leading the Eagles to the division title and probably more. What a success story for the Cowboys. Probably fabricating his bust in Canton as we speak

If you were here for any reason outside of a personal vendetta against Dak, you'd probably realize that has nothing to do with my post. But here we are, with you taking a post that simply showed how biased individuals have blinded themselves to reality, and replying with something completely unrelated to further your idiotic agenda.

And lol at the double standard. Hey this guy and team are performing similar to how Dallas did last season. It's awesome and worthy of praise. But it was meaningless when Dak did it because...

Yards. The QB metric for elementary schoolers.

Seriously. Passing yards is like the worst stat to use to compare two qbs (especially two that have over a decade in between them) unless one is so deficient in that area that its clear. And in those cases, every other better QB comparison stat will make it clear as well.

My biggest concern is less what Dak has or doesn't have than what this brain trust thinks is necessary in a quarterback to win championships. They thought Tony Romo was elite when he was merely very good. They were high on Andy Dalton. They had a top 5 pick and didn't want to take a quarterback, preferring to settle in the fourth round and hope to build around a running back. I mean, yes, occasionally teams win that are built around a running game and/or defense. But those are usually one-shot wonders that don't win over the long haul.

He beat the Falcons last year? Last year Dallas had everybody that mattered healthy for the playoffs healthy and their opponent was the wounded side while that was reversed in 2007.

Oh the butthurt is strong with Prescott's Apologists
Dude, he's your team's qb, why do people even have to apologize for him. He had an insane rookie season, had a solid start, but then three bad games...It happens. We didn't experience it with Romo but he was something special. It's like you want Dak to fail

Really how many years did it take Romo he sat on the bench for the first two then he would choke for the next 2 or 3 so where is that wrong God I love this revisionist history crap
Dak was the much better prospect coming into the NFL
