We already know that Dez sucks and that Witten runs a 4 minute 40. I prefer not to rehash that here. So just assume it's true for purposes of this exercise. (It is true).

Now that the season is over do you think that the Cowboys will make any adjustment to the current Dez and Witten roster? Will we do the same thing or cut one or both next year? Will we draft competition? Will we cut their playing time? Relegate Dez to 4th or 5th receiver on the team (which is more in line with his talent level)?

Will Dez be able to handle the offseason criticism that will inevitably come? Will he melt down in the offseason? But a monkey? Be sued over jewlery? Need a full time babysitter again?

Probably just get new position coaches and an oc over cutting Dez.

I think it's entirely possible we draft a TE fairly high, but I'd be beyond astonished if we cut either guy, and only slightly less surprised if we even ask either to take a pay cut.

If I was the GM there is no way either of these guys would be playing for their full rate of pay next year. Zero.

Hannah and swaim have the tools. Significantly lessen witts role and increase the roles in the passing game for hannah and swaim.

Dez has to go. I would trade him to the 49ers for a third round pick at this point. They want to surround Jimmy Garropolo with more weapons and Dez might do better with a pure pocket passer.

Dak Prescott needs a true deep threat that can stretch a defense off of play action. Prescott isn't accurate enough to get the ball to Dez like Romo did (this is not an indictment of Dak, I am one of his biggest supporters on this forum. But this is the truth).

As for Witten, he doesn't have to go anywhere. His new deal is cap-friendly and Dallas can slash his salary cap number next year. However, it's time to find a new TE and relegate Witten to spot duty; like the Chargers have done with Antonio Gates.
