This debate will be answered when Zeke's contract is up. Ideally the 4th pick in the draft should not be a 4 year rental.

undeniably, Zeke. he makes a big difference in this offense. he is the central piece, not Dak. Ramsey, although a very good CB, has a tremendous, and great DL and some Good LBs in front of him. without them, he was average last year and Zeke was the best RB in the league.

Zeke played behind the best offensive line in the NFL. The same offensive line that made Demarco Murray(a 3rd round pick) offensive player of the year.

there is a big difference between Zeke and Murray. if you can't tell the difference then I am not sure if I can help you.

There might be but in terms of team results.............. there wasn't a heck of a lot of difference. Actually, the Murray Cowboys actually won a playoff game, the Elliott one did not.

Admittedly you can't call it a perfect apples to apples situation, but still what evidence is there to say Jack is clearly better, or that he will be better going forward now that Smith has a year under his belt playing with his brace and learning to play in the NFL. Certainly a strong case can be made that Smith performed at about the same level as Jack, and Jack had the benefit of a year of NFL experience and not having sat out a year recovering from injury. It still seems the evidence points toward Smith being the better player.

Yeah my point was the Cowboys D could have used another LB in 2016 and 2017. Basically Jack is a year ahead since he got to play and learn. Not sure who will be better long term.

The last 4 straight years a player who came into the NFL as an undrafted free agent made the Pro-Bowl ... a different one each year.

Other Pro Bowl CBs over those years included some 1st round guys, but other round 2-5 guys (on top of the UDFAs).

Richard Sherman and Josh Norman, two of the best in the game over the last 7-8 years, were both 5th round draft picks.

Bottom line is top of the first round isn't the only place to find high quality RB's or CB's. it just helps increase the odds by drafting either that high.

We're looking at two specific positions: RB and CB.

One position can show demonstratebly through history that it regularly provides quality/productive players later in the draft (and outside of it) more than the other. That's the RB position.

Top tier CB is always more valuable than a top tier RB.

I love what Zeke brings to the team ... but Jalen is far more difficult to find.

I believe that our young corners are gonna be darn good next season,so i am good with the Zeke pick.

I think with what Zeke went through this season was a distraction for him and the team.Next year will be one to remember for us Cowboy fans...in a good way.

Doesn't really matter. The talent is only one aspect, you still need the coaching, the scheme and the surrounding talent to bring it all together. I'd love a shut down corner, I think they're far more difficult to find than a RB, but the Jags have the front 7.. the Cowboys do not. Ramsey would not be the same player here.

Zeke has more of an immediate impact on our team than Ramsey would. Zeke is the better short-term investment... Ramsey is the better long-term investment. I don't really see us giving Zeke a massive second contract, if we even give him one at all. With that said, we weren't a cornerback away from creating a dominant defense, but we were a running back away from creating a dominant offense, which is why Zeke brought much more impact. The jags essentially tanking two years in a row is one of the big reasons for their success. They got their own zeke-esque back in fournette, and coupled with their prior draft, they had the talent to really take off.

Both teams made it to the divisional round of the playoffs, which is equivalent in success.

Jalen ramsey and it's not even close. If we had ramsey this season and a servicable RB like Morris we are playing this coming weekend. Ramsey sets an attitude for a defense for a decade. Think Woodson... Charles that is. Think Deion. Think guys who spent a decade being physical, big, confident... he's changed the entire shape of the Jaguars organization.

I wanted Ramsey, but for this team, and how everything is lotted, I think it is clear cut and Elliot is the favorite. I don't think Ramsey could be what he is in Jacksonville. Zeke makes so many hard earned half a yard to extra yard that the average fan doesn't notice that is a deservice to him, he's an amazing player. I love ZEKE.
