What we need as a HC

A micro manager who manages the offensive and defensive play calls during the game. A dictating micro-manager would be even better. A guy that controls everything. A tough sumbeach who will fall on the sword for making bad decisions as the OC and HC. One who will say yeah, my bad, I wasn't very good at managing the clock when I was the OC so as HC I'm going to get in my OC's face the entire game and let him know that I fart thunder and crap lightning. Fear me!!

micro managers often fail. The best HC of this era is BB and he is a micro manager but that is more likely just a coincidence. Most of them fail. they try and do too much and gum up the works.

The truly great coaches are often not ones that should be that great when you look carefully at them.

the best we could do right now is probably above average since who ever that is has to deal with Jerry. Red Ball is still not good enough even though he appears to be able to deal very well with Jerry.. Getting a better HC is very difficult because no proven one will work for him (BP was desperate for money so that was a definite one off and we all know that Jerry will never again let any HC have the power that BP did) so all we can hope for is when Jerry finally kicks Red Ball to the curb he finds a young guy willing to put up with him who turns out really good.

I saw the thread yesterday where TO blamed JG the OC for the misfortunes from 2007-2009. Now he blames JG the HC for the same thing. Something not quite right about his statement. He's seems a bit confused about the OC/HC roll. Meh, he's TO and danced on the star. George Teague should be in the ROH for hammering him :).

Any suggestions?

Live with it. JG is what we have as a HC for 2018. Continue to build the talent on the team so the next HC can rely on his OC (whoever that is) to call plays that work to the players strengths and talent. The new guy could be a game manager, which is an ugly term if your'er a QB, not so much if you're a HC :)

or, how about a guy like belechick JUST so we can laugh at his non-interviews...did you see his standard slop responses on friday?

and, while I agree wholeheartedly with the thought process of the OP, we already have the greatest meddler in the history of the sport with our owner....he would NEVER let someone else meddle more than him....

TO is lucky it wasn’t Roy Williams that hit him. Wish it was.

Ain't that the truth. It's funny how some fans just picked right up on good old TO's dissing on Garrett. I wonder if they loved him while he played in a DC uniform after dancing on the Star. I disliked TO and his antics with great vehement. Hate is an ugly word

The OP was using a wee bit of sarcasm to rattle the cages a bit:muttley:

Yet another Garrett apologist thread

Can we have a Garrett apologist zone where the 4 people on CZ blind enough to believe in him as HC can talk to each other? And a well known mod can moderate them

And now, we hear from the bard:

"And all our" threads "have lighted fools the way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!" This subject is "but a walking shadow, a poor player that struts and frets his hour upon the stage and then is heard no more. It is a tale, told by an idiot, full of sound and fury, signifying nothing."

We need a coach that can stick up to Jones and tell him to butt out and stay in his seat during the game. Then we need the coach to not make crucial blunders costing us crucial games.

Once upon a time, there was a coach who tried that. And he got fired.

Would you like me to read you anymore fairy tales at bedtime?
