Is anyone still pleased with the 6-0 win against the Iggles?

I dont care if we beat'em 2-0....I just want'em to win...and especially over the eagles.
Cowboys did finish 5-1 in the East.

Lets break that down, shall we.................

2 wins against the sorry arse Giants who fired their head coach and have the second pick in the draft.
2 wins against the sorry arse Skins who, like Dallas, is one of just three teams to never play in a NFC Title game in the last 20 yrs.
1 blowout loss against Philly when the division was still in grasp and both teams were actually trying.
1 win against Philly's practice squad after the already wrapped up home field and decided week 17 was an extra bye week. We won 6-0

Dam impressive performance overall, wouldn't you say:thumbup:

If you think that winning a game against mostly backs ups has a benefit to the next season, 9 months away, I laugh at your naivety.

And it's not about being precise. Picking 16th gives you a better chance, even if only slightly, to get a higher name on your draft board. It's almost impossible to argue otherwise. It's simply a math issue.

Don't waste your time my friend, these guys don't seem to understand that there is a reason that teams with worse records pick before teams with better records. According to them, it doesn't matter where you pick because the draft is just a crap shoot so if you are picking 14 or picking 31, it doesn't matter.

Of course they cant logically explain why if it doesn't matter, teams require compensation to move upwards. If you are going to move from pick 19 to pick 16, that would usually take a 3rd or 4th round pick?

So if your a person that is thinking logically about this type of stuff, they would ask themselves is a win against another team's practice squad worth a 3rd or 4th round draft pick? That is the value between winning and losing that game, the cost it would take to move from the pick you have to the pick you would have had if you lost, ergo a 3rd or 4th round pick.

5-0 in the division games that didn't really matter, 0-1 in the game that did

Not a chance...... I want to trade back with a team that wants a QB like Mayfield or Jackson

I don't think there is any standout in the whole class
If you want to trade back the 16th pick would likely have more value than the 19th. Even if the increased price is just an extra sixth-rounder, it provides the "quantity" you say you want. So you continue to make no sense/be stubbornly obtuse.

I checked NFL stats, and will check again in few months, next year, and next decade (although I expect the same result)

All what I saw is a W .. There is no paragraph stating Philly played with their backups, and rested their starters, and Pat's better than Gino's yada yada yada .... I didn't see an asterisk as well .. so a W is W ..

The books will say we beat them in their house in 2017.

I, personally, didn't care about that game, but it was good to get out with a win

No one will remember that win ten years from now, except Eagles & Cowboys fans-- who are precisely the people who know that the Eagles didn't try to win.

Most Eagles fans didn't even want to play their starters (check their message boards), they were worried about injuries & knew the game was meaningless.

See, meaningless games are meaningless when you're trying for a championship instead of padding your pathetic record.

Kind of like how Dallas did to the eagles last year........ How did that end

Pleased in beating special team players and second and third stringers...wasn't really a game outside of pulling for Zeke to get 1k...was nothing more than a preseason game with a week 17 title.

Is anyone happy with anything the Cowboys do ?
Excellent question. The answer varies from yes, no and sometimes depending upon how each individual self-identifies as a fan in relation to the franchise.

In our long relationship with the eaglets, our roles have reversed over the last 20+ seasons.

Used to be they were the ones getting empty wins that meant nothing while we went on to playoff glory. Their “Super Bowl” was beating us in Filly in the regular season. I used to laugh and roll my eyes at the Filly fans who crowed about those kind of wins.

Times have changed....

I'm happy anytime we beat the eagles. Your obvious point here is baseless and has no correlation whatsoever to anything that transpired yesterday. I don't care if it's preseason or if it's 7 on 7 two hand touch between players of both teams. I always want to beat Philly. How would a loss have been "better."

Wouldn't have been fun, but at least it would've been honest and we would've got a better draft position.
We're an 8-8 team pretending to be 9-7 to save Garrett's posterior.

small sample size

'statistically and historically' means more than one cherry picked year to try and bolster your losing argument....... it means over a long period of time the facts prove that the difference between 16 and 19 is negligible or near zero

I'd be willing to take that chance. Where was the big gain in beating the scrubs from home depot with our 1st stringers 6-0?
Heck if we dump the NFL and schedule 16 high school teams instead, we just might go 12-4!
