clearly not a bust. but multiple injuries have taken their toll. imo, we've seen his best. he is now a product of diminishing returns. not worth what he's paid any longer.

Remember Akili Smith, Tony Mandrich, Ryan Leaf, Tim Couch, and a plethora of other names? Those guys are considered a bust. High picks that didnt make it out of their first contract. Not people who have near 6 to 8 year careers and when it comes to Dez was a probowl player and at one time considered a top 5 WR in the game.

A lot of fans think if someone isnt a HOF'er or an every year pro bowler then they are a bust. I've seen some say third rounders like T. Will or M.Collins or a bust. Logic people, logic. Its free, use it.

And then add in the fact that he was a late 1st, and no, he wasn't a bust.

Did he underperform, career wise? That appears to be the case. But not woefully. His expectations were a bit too high. He's really about inline w/ what you'd expect from his draft status.

So we should expect the next first round receiver to break the teams receiving TD record?

We don't make the team better by cutting our best WR

We made the same mistake with DWare when a simple restructure would have accomplished the same thing

we also don't make the team better by overpaying a player who's now past his prime. as for a restructure, that's a possibility. but that usually entails deferring money and the subsequent dead money issue which killed us in our recent past.

Meanwhile, Belichick and Brady are thinking, “Oh PLEASE release him, Jerry...pretty please?”

Yea because Brady will throw the ball right into Dez's face mask if he cant catch passes with his hands.

Not a bust. Lol just lacks the abiliy to get separation. Plays in a scheme with no creativity. Needs a qb. Like Romo who can throw him open

Dez definitely hasn’t been a “bust.” Another example of people going overboard due to his drop in production the past three seasons. From 2012 to 2014 no receiver in the league caught more TDs than he did. He’s caught more TDs than any receiver in franchise history. He’s been terribly disappointing the past three seasons and has declined but he certainly hasn’t been a bust.

ran into this earlier today....seemed like an interesting topic to discuss.
FYI- I don't think he's a bust, but needs a different system and qb to thrive. It's worthy of discussion. Go cowboys

To me..

Dez has had to adjust to DAK.

Going forward..

Both Beasley AND Dez need more time with DAK.

Also would like to see other players at their positions play more.

Switzer for Beasley and Noah Brown for TWill and somebody to help the TE position be a lethal weapon again.

If we can get everybody involved in the passing game..

It will help a lot for DAK and put the needed power in the air attack.

Taking the pressure off Zeke and the running game to do it all.

Presently..there is way too much pressure on the OL to do everything for this team.

If the opposition can stymie the OL..

We fall apart.

Maybe the "bust" label starts over at anytime a player signs a new contract........cause on the contract he is on now, yup--its not good
On his rookie contract was money in the bank

contract extensions......? :)
