The guy has not proven he can play at anything like a top level or even decent level in the NFL

I could care less about his personal problems only on what that means as a player and team mate

I could care less about 'helping' someone. We have done that time and again and how often has it worked out?

To be blunt I do not think a few words and PR gestures MEAN A THING.

Those that want that disaster here are for all intents and purposes if not IDIOTS then deaf dumb and blind to what a NFL team NEEDS to win

And I'm happy we have Cooper.

But if Johnny has turned it around, he's a high quality prospect for peanuts. I'll take all the cheap but quality QBs I can get.

Besides, let Jerry have his dream.
PRECISELY,,,& well stated,too!

:bow::thumbup::bow:,,,er,,,:starspin:

That gold footballin' jacket clad franchise owner AND GENERAL MANAGER of concerning footballish matters should have his every little dream fully fulfilled before his final departure.
But,man! If it came down on who gets the boot to make room for MANZIEL?, I'm refusing to entertain that aspect currentlyo_O

Yeah, I know. He's a knucklehead, and didn't look like an NFL QB. I thought it was a joke anyone wanted him in the first round - some of you wanted him, don't deny it - but we know Jerry liked him. Offer him the veteran minimum. If he still sucks, cut him. He'd be cheap competition for Dak, and some fans would be excited about it.

Crazy? Probably, but we have a 76 page thread about the Dez play from 2014. At least this would be relevant. :rolleyes:
WOW! Really? SMH

high quality prospect. yeah sure. All flash and very little substance. Do the names Ryan Leaf and Jamarcus Russell ring a bell; and they actually looked better in college as NFL prospects then Manziel EVER did.

LEAF/YES,,, RUSSELL/NO,,,
regardless of any personal harbored thoughts one might hold , I find this "Johnny Football" on the cheap
' backup ' ,concept , intriguing.

If given that second
" chance " he could be somewhat akin to the equivalent of the steel mow-board plow unleased upon the unsettled prairie grasslands of North America,,,,er,,,,just forget about that ensuing dust bowl that followed,,,but still!
( If not Dallas, he should be considered elsewhere , however briefly,around the league if he's TRULY on that Lynyrd Skynyrd 'Gimme Back My Bullets' tour.)

I wouldn’t mind giving him a chance as the 3Qb. Insurance in case Dak can’t rebound, Although I personally want to see more of Cooper Rush this preseason.
Hell, Dallas has rolled the dice on a number of iffy players in the past. What would it hurt to roll the dice on a former 1st round QB that apparently has gotten his life together.. keep him on a short lease. Why not? I’m all for it.

Has anyone else seen his recent interview? He takes full responsibility and seems genuine. He received treatment and is on Bipolar meds.. if we can give others a second chance.. why not him? He won’t cost much and has everything to prove.

alcoholism, bipolar, kicked of the worst team in the NFL but we should give him a second chance cause we're so good at second chances

I would give him a chance. He can't be worse than Dak was the final 8 games of last season.

Then again, I'd love to have Baker Mayfield also. So maybe I have a problem haha

The XFL is coming back. Maybe Jerry will have a franchise like he had in the arena league...
LOL,:lmao::lmao2::lmao:
man,you wanna talk about ''brassy, brazen & bold"???
That would be a casing right up the ol' liner of JERRY to tackle that, divesting himself from the current morass of insider league dictums (all the while holding majority controlling interest) & prove beyond a shadow of any doubt that,,, HE ,,,is a fortune perpetuating engine all unto himself.:cool:
( That would be HILARIOUS)

The Shelf Life of this, "Sign Johnny Manziel" thing, seems to be longer then the most virile strain of roach.

This whole craptastic idea needs to die already......

We're not the team to make this kind of move.

Manziel is a lightning rod and it just won't work for him in Dallas.

No, No, No! However, this does sound like something Jerry would do...add another act to the Circus.
