How long has Randy been smoking weed? Did he start BECAUSE he had an anxiety disorder? Or is it more likely, he is using that as his excuse because he started as a pre-teen and just likes it so much that he is grasping for any straw he can to justify his addiction to it?

Does it matter? Why do you care? You don't care about the players addicted to pills. You don't care about when players started drinking and to what extent they need it to get through each day and why. Weed isn't any more a problem than any other vice to the player. Other people decided it's a big problem for him. It amazes me that people can get hookers or go to strip clubs, or get drunk every day or smoke a cigarette every hour yet will look at someone they've never met and decide they should lose their lively hood, getting stripped away because the thing that helps him is different from the thing that helps you get through life.

It honestly saddens and frustrates me that a lot of you exist.

Exactly. He has issues. Better not to count on him or expect anything. I said this a year ago. He will never play another down in the NFL.

I wonder what the NFL would do if two doctor said that Gregory was a candidate for medical marijuana which contains more CBD than THC. That would be a rather interesting ruling as one could still be tested for the amount of THC which is " higher" in the recreational marijuana.

Yeah. It isn't like it is a fact that many substance users are self medicating.

But hey, when possible blame it on a personal flaw rather than a legitimate illness.

COUCH---last year California legalized recreational use of Marijuana....i dont smoke it anymore...but i am not down on Randy Gregory using it for medical reasons...it helps his head issues...much better for a person than alcohol

100% agree with the article. BUT- the fact remains that weed is prohibited by the league. Gregory valued smoking weed more than he valued his career in the NFL. Tragic, and also just plain stupid. He could have just given it up for a few years, in exchange for MILLIONS of dollars- then he can spend the rest of his life getting stoned on his back porch....

If you aren't prescribed marajuana by a doctor you aren't using it for medical purposes.
Pot has virtually no medicinal use anyway.
It's funny everyone that tells you it does smokes it for recreational use.
