Would you have given a 2nd and a 4th for Peters?

Tied for fifth in the league with five picks.

And like @dwreck27 said, our lb corps isn’t very highly regarded ‘other than Sean Lee’.
I don't know why you guys keep bringing up Lee. I'm in no disagreement about Lee. But his problems are his body failing him. That's not Peters. He's a solid man corner. One of the best in the league. He's also one of the worst tacklers. He also gets burnt.

His 5 picks wouldn't transfer well here being we don't play man to man and you need to be able to tackle.

I think Peters is expecting new deal.
He's already a knucklehead, so if he did t get the deal right away, he could be a problem.

Great player, headache for staff and locker room, some players report he was a super distraction, good luck Rams and thank you Cowboys for not trading for him.

was steal for Ram. I think Peters wanted to play on west coast. But there is bigger problem lurking in that teams generally don't trade with Dallas.

Why would they not trade with Dallas? Our beloved GM loves to give away the farm to get big name players, remember what he gave away to get Roy Williams from the Lions? That trade alone killed us in lost draft picks (#1,3 and 7) plus we signed him to a new 54m contract a week after getting him in 2008 and after we let him go he was dead money on our books until 2012 at a total of 13m dollars, you can put that dead cap number into perspective when you look at Romo. He was on our books with dead cap money for 2 years at 15.9 million. Roy Williams dead cap money 13m..lol and he was on the team for 3 years. Teams should be lining up to trade with us and JJ

I don't think other teams make trades nearly as often as Cowboy fans imagine. Ultimately, if a team feels it can make a trade that benefits the team, why would it care if it is with Dallas or someone else? The exception would be division rivals who don't want to trade anything to Dallas, but outside that, why would a team care as long as it feels the trade makes sense?

No. This is foolishness. Rams think they are one player away. That rarely works out.

Why do people not value picks?

Yes or preferrably i would get Malcom Butler. No draft picks just money. I would love to see him on our team. He is great. Pats screwed themselves big with him.

for essentially two more years?

CB is probably not the position on our team to look to spend on but it seems like a pretty great deal for the Rams. Dude is definitely a ball hawk

Pretty cheap for a DB who is second only to Earl Thomas in interceptions since he's been in the league

You don't see the difference in blaming one unit on a player as opposed to a whole defense? And my problem with Lee is he can't stay healthy. The guy is a beast on the field. That's not a problem Peters has.

Lee has been healthy the past 3 years besides missing a game or two mostly so it wasnt like 2012/2013

Peters lead the league in Interceptions since he's entered the league
Peters is a two time all pro( 1st and 2nd team)
Peters has also been a few pro bowls and was defensive rookie of the year

But "Peters was apart of the worst secondary in the league last year. I'm not sure how good he is at this point. I thought last year he was a headcase and got burnt. Chiefs secondary is bad and they got rid of their best player?" - rocyaice

Chiefs secondary was incredibly bad last year. Eric Berry went out and the secondary went to crap. I'm not knocking how good Peters has been his career. I'm speaking on his play last year. He wasn't as good as he was in previous years.

Lee hasn't been healthy what are you talking about? Why are you even talking about Lee anyway?

Not sure why not with Jerry being the worst trading GM in the NFL..........if I were a GM Jerry would be #1 on my call list.

For 2019 2nd? Yup and I would laugh all the way to the bank! How have our last few 2nd rounders panned out for us?

Not good that is for sure. I think they close there eyes and throw a dart to see who they will pick. Never seen so many misses on 2nd rounders in my life.

Actually fairly well. I don't know why this myth keeps getting posted.
Chidobe - rook I get it but was hurt a lot. Played decent when on the field.
Jaylon - jury still out but we all know so far hasn’t been that good (rightfully so)
Gregory - awful awful pick.
DLaw - he did put together an amazing year when it mattered most. 1 solid year
Escobar - lol.

This is why people say it. It doesn’t appear to be a myth to me. I personally wouldn’t call those picks doing fairly well but that’s just my opinion.

picks are a way to potentially acquire talent. sometimes a known commodity is preferred.

Anybody that says no, is challenged. He's a top 5 corner, and some may claim to be the top. He by far makes the most game changing plays at the position, something a team like this one could use.

Not a RKG though, even though maybe this defense could use some attitude.[/QUOTE]

RKG have gotten us to be mediocre. It's funny anyone would turn a player of his caliber down, it's almost the level of Moss pre draft he's that good. Rams are clear favorites over us, watch us do nothing in FA and be mediocre like the past 20 years.

No, I wouldn't. Kris Richard is going to do wonders with Chidobe Awuzie, Jourdan Lewis, and Anthony Brown.

Peters is a great player, but we have to ask ourselves, why were the Chiefs so quick to wash their hands of him? Something smells....
