This is where I’m at too...I was fighting it but the combine just solidified that he most likely going to be at least a staring G for a long time.

But do I actually want to draft a G at 19? No way.

And I still think Braden Smith is going way underrated. He is also a potential long time starter at LG and could easily be available at 50

I sort of agree, but I think Hernandez will be phenomenal at LG for us if we get him at 19. Our entire oline will be able to maul any defense anywhere at anytime.

Shining in workouts eliminates any possibility of getting Hernandez in the 2nd round. Maybe a slight trade down at 19 but I don't think he's getting past the 20's. That's when you usually see quality interior OL start to go off the board and Hernandez has to be at or near the top of that list now. James Daniels is another going in the same general area. He's interesting for the Cowboys in that he can play both C or G.

Exactly, at this point, we pretty much will have to grab him at 19 if we want him. I think it would be wise to do so as well. Who do we have at LG anyway? Why not get a second Martin?

Yeah no way Hernandez gets outside of the top 25 at this point. Braden Smith 6’6 303, 1st team all American and All SEC, 40 starts for Auburn, was just as impressive at the combine as Hernandez....that’s the guy I want at 50 over Hernandez at 19.

Exactly, so, this sort of forces our hand if we're to keep this offensive line great. We have an issue at LG that need to be fixed. Plus, I have a feeling that Will Hernandez will become the best player on our board at 19. Not to mention how much I'm salivating at the thought of having him in our oline. He's PERFECT for our oline.

Disclaimer: I am a UTEP alum & Cowboys fan, so of course I want this guy in Dallas.

I am biased, but I think that at worst, Hernandez is a better Ronald Leary and at best, he's a better (LG) La'el Collins.

watch how he carries himself in interviews. very professional, speaks intelligently. VERY aware of what's expected of him.

Also, I have no doubt that *IF* he doesn't go in the 1st, there's no way NYG lets him get passed them at 34 (I can even see them trading up into the bottom of the 1st to do it).

Lol, hey, we all have our favorite players (it'd be odd if i called him a pet cat lol).

Just giving you a hard time.
I’m actually in 100% agreement with you.
I said a few weeks ago that he’s my pick in the 3rd. I think he’d be an absolute stud and a steal at that point.
Here’s to our “pet cat” in round 3...

Yup! (even if the character I portray is a lion lol) Let's get him!

Oh, I have, he's amazing! I think he'd be our LG-version of Zach Martin. Could you IMAGINE two Zach Martins? That desire will come true if Jerry chooses Will Hernandez. As stated, I'm salivating at the thought of us having him play at LG. He'd be the answer to facing the toughest defenses.

I'm super high on this guy.

He's pulled off a nice combine, was good at the senior bowl and obviously developed some reporte with M.Collins and T.Smith when he was training with them. Not quite sold on 19 but he's a player I hope we can get in the right range of to pick.

Wynn's feet, technique, measurements, and performance at the senior bowl has him as my no.2 guard but Hernandez is a guy I'm really high on and it's not a big gap.

What would sell you on him at 19? Cuz I'm sold on him as the 19th overall pick.

Probably the biggest thing is that Wynn would have to be gone.

Hmm, I like Wynn too. I see that he's listed as comparable to Ronald Leary which I can see. My counterpoint to this is that, from what I've seen from Hernandez, he looks a lot like our very own Zach Martin. Either way, that's not a bad thing to choose from. Leary when he was here or Martin? That's a first team problem lol. Personally, I'd be thrilled to have 2 Martins.

I concur, and I really want him at 19. Can you imagine it? We'd be able to impose our will on defenses for as long as we want. This would be the best oline ever! Smith, Hernandez, Frederick, Martin, and Collins/ That would be insane! We could run it any time in any situation with Zeke with no fear of being stopped. Let's do it!!!! Come on Jerry! Get Hernandez at 19! BTW, we'd have the all important 5th year option. That would be awesome! We would have power on our offense like no one will have ever seen before!

Again.

What you are saying is that without Hernandez, we can't impose our will on defenses even though the four other OL are first round talents as well. Oh and we have a Top 5 picked TB too.

What's really going to make us impose our will on defenses is adding that 5th stud OL. Only then, can we start to maul defenses.

As I said before, if the difference between this OL mauling people and not mauling people is another OG at 19, then the problem isn't the players on the OL to begin with.

Payne, James, Smith, Edmunds, Ridley, Vea, Wynn all off the board at that pick. Oh, and no team is willing to trade up to 19.

In that situation, I can live with Hernandez at 19.

I prefer Hernandez over Wynn. Maybe this is unsound logic but Wynn's scouting report is really similar to Cooper's. In fact they both played at 6'2" 302 lb. I think. I know Cooper was hurt but he has generally underperformed. I just think Hernandez will be far better in the long run. I want road grader power at left guard. With that line Zeke would have huge holes.
