The XLII threw me. I thought we were talking about a 10+ year veteran. Why is he already a free agent, if he's only 25?

He was a 4th round pick so he becomes a free agent after four seasons. 21 years old as a rookie, 22, 23, and 24.

25/26 is the prime age of free agents coming off their first contracts.

Looks like the Patriots signing a journeyman like Tobin tells you what they might think of Fleming.

Either they know he is gone or don't care one way or the other.

He did very well. Except that I believe he was blocking Brandon Graham on the strip sack that effectively ended the game.

Finding a good RT would maintain the quality at the RT position and upgrade the LG position. Not sure if Fleming is any good, but if he is at least as good as Collins was at RT, he is worth signing. I like Collins better inside.

good point - fleming has played 4 out of 5 positions on the ol and has not been a disaster.
though most think of fleming as a backup that may get starter $.
my biggest concern is that ot's tend to work out in new england.
is it brady and their coach, both of which we lack?

At worst...he is as good as Collins at RT...at best? well who knows how good he can be as a full time starter.What I love is he is just 25 and has much game experience in a good system.

I don't think he will get Parnell money. I think he comes close though.

Collins wasn't good.

That's the long and short of it.

Collins was a big reason why the offense stubbed its toe last season.

Collins came in real strong the back half if the year. Admittedly it took him time to settle. I like they are looking at this guy but I wouldn't move Collins again.

this move would actually be a crucial one if it pans out and this kid becomes a stud down the road. He is only 25,that is the part that has me excited.Played in a ton of meaningful games at a high level.
