Think about it...the young man has SB cred and could have a great affect on the team...not to mention the sky is the limit for him.

I thought overall Lael did a great job handling the switch to RT, I felt he struggled a bit at first but started really improving and coming on imo.

I was impressed by the way he shut down a murderers row of pass rushers like Kahlil Mack, Von Miller, JPP etc. IMO Collins will be a beast at RT or G, hes just a supremely talented player that is ready for a fist fight ever play, hes gonna knock the snot out of you one way or the other and he gets better every game.

That said, Im not sure hes not more valuable to us at LG as who wants to mess w the Smith Collins combo? Made us great last year.

If Fleming can be an adequate Doug Free replacement then we would be right back on track and I'd be excited about the switch.

I think Lael could help take alot of pressure off T Smith with his brute strength next to him probably much better than a rookie even though Im all for Hernandez/Wynn if it falls that way.

Another thought, although I dont pretend to have paid attention to fleming it did seem crazy to me how clean of a pocket Brady was usually standing in, nothing like what Dak had last year, Brady was just sitting back chilling alot!

Also wouldnt keep us from drafting a top O lineman imo, if say Orlando Brown was the highest rated player then wed have great depth again like when we had Leary

Bringing in a quality OL during FA let’s them address depth on the DL in the draft.

You probably just wanted to complain though, huh?
What is to stop them taking advantage of the DL free agents and address OL depth in the draft?

I feel pretty confident what is available now on the DL side in free agency is superior to what is left with the OL.

Super bowl credentials means nothing.
Super Bowl cred. That is a pretty good one. Just because a team made a Super Bowl or had a successful season does not mean their backups are better than everyone else's.

But if you play well it means everything...that's the caveat..still comes down to how you play...otherwise the cred goes out the window. I get that. I like his cred and his upside..its a win win.

This is odd. Why wait until now to say this?

Does this mean if he isn't moved back to G that the Cowboys have a bad player in the starting lineup?

Nobody walked away from last season thinking Cooper out played Collins. That Cooper is a better G than Collins a RT. Those rankings are worthless.
I'm a huge Cooper fan but I think Collins played well even more so then Cooper. What most seem to not think about is the OL needs chemistry. You can't keep moving guys around and think that's going to improve the line.

I don't mind taking Hernandez or Wynn for LG as no update to Cooper's injury has been posted to my knowledge. If he is clear then keeping the same 5 is good with me. Moving Collins is not an option in my opinion though. If we make any changes it would be to LG as we aren't sure about Cooper.

groaning....ok...understand this..not the cred alone...its the games he has under his belt at such an early age.Its also that he played well enough apparently to get a ring. Its not like he stood on the sidelines for those games. he was on the field.

Suh and Logan are obvious...what other DT would you sign?

He earned any cred he has..KNOW THAT. The kid was like 20 or 21 and playing on Sundays..he started a bunch of games.

Draft a guard- Wynn or Hernandez, and leave Collins. Stop moving players around

This team is always unprepared and never has a plan in place. Collins did very well at RT last year. Now, we are trying to move him out of position to compensate for their own stupidity of not locking Leary before he had a monster year.

They still might, but now with those extra later round picks vice using another premium selection that could go to further revamping the D.

I don’t follow who is still available that closely tbh so I can’t comment. All things considered though, *IF* this gets done I think it’s still a solid move. The offense is built around the Oline and this could potentially upgrades two spots in one move.
