mr Star--- sir this trade is sheer stupidity by cowboys...Keith Smith transitioned from linebacker to become a full-back/special teams STUD...
and cowboys trade a 5th round pick for a 6th and Smith for Olawaze...Olawaze cannot block near as good as Smith he cannot catch passes near as good..he cannot play special teams near as good...and if its about the money the cowboys saved a measly 400K...come on man that is pocket change...its because Oakand has Rich bascaciea and he told Gruden to get Smith cause he is a Stud and they did...it amazed me how stupid cowboys are in free-agency...we have lost Hitchens ( i agree we could not pay him 9 mil a year ) we lost Wilbur ...great special teams ace and linebacker and rusher in a pinch..we lost Scandrick...and sir we barely escaped total stupidity if cowboys would have signed receiver Watkins...the guy has always been injured and only put one year 1,000 yds in whole career..and we were ready to pay him 15 mil a year...my gosh...we are much better in draft but we are so brain dead in free-agency....we need a good reliable FS....I hope we get Tre Boston..he is a playmaker and wont break the bank...but we wont...this years draft for safety is one of the worst in last 10 years..unless we could get Derwin James some how?....sir i am just so disappoited with the Garrett regime..8 years HC and he seems to get worse not better...he is so feminine too..sorry for dumping on you Mr Star

Instead of wasting time on a FB, which you can pick up in a cornfield, you need to be focusing on SPEED AT WR, a great safety, LB, DT, back up lineman, and a back up QB who could start right away of Dak falters. Do that stuff first, and then think about a FB.

What speed receiver, great safety, LB, DT backup lineman or back up QB are you targeting with our late 5th rounder that you couldnt get 19 picks later at the top of the 6th round?

Did I get this right?

We turned our comp pick from Church et al into a FB that we had on our practice squad a few years ago? From the very same team that signed our current FB--who was actually a really good player for us?

Yeah, that 12% of offensive snaps that Smith played proves it!

Of course, that's better than the 8% of the offensive snaps of the guy we traded for.

:facepalm::facepalm:

I thought he liked using a full back ... my bad. maybe he should use a fullback more.

It was 6 years ago, and at the time Olawale was undrafted and being converted from H-Back/WR to FB. Now he is an experienced NFL FB, so the Cowboys are getting a different guy than they had then. The Cowboys also got a 6th round draft pick, so it was a 5th rounder in exchange for a 6th rounder and Olawale.

Good point. I don't put people on ignore, but it's amusing to see people who do and you find out in inadvertent ways.
I'm all about free speach and all. But I've ignored a couple, just to keep my sanity.

I don't mind other points of view. Just do it constructively. This isn't some think tank board. It's a fan board. Some of this gripeing and complaining, and the "expert" advice is just over the top.

I may add more to just lessen the noise.

Could have drafted a FB in the 5th for cheaper. Dumb organization from top to bottom.

They couldn't have drafted a guy they could be sure can play in the NFL in the 5th, and they wouldn't have had the extra 6th rounder. There is value to a proven player over a "keep your fingers crossed" player.

Living near Raider country, I have had a chance to watch Olawale play fairly regularly. He's actually a pretty talented pass catcher and fairly stout with way more speed than Keith (whom I really liked for his passion and special teams play). I think it would be interesting to have some alignments that feature him and Rod Smith as pass-catching options...both have hybrid TE receiving ability/size (if not so much height) and could create some real matchup issues for LBs, especially in 3WR sets.

Ha ha ha ha! Thank you for that! Ahhh... I can go on with my day now. Lol.
mr Corso--- sir i am beyond disappointed with cowboy managment...they do not own or manage or coach or play to win...JOnes found a good way to turn his original investment of 180 million to 4 billion empire...boast of yester-years winners and say we are close...right around the corner...fans go crazy and we stay mediocre ...not too bad and not too good....mr Corso just the mentality of managment to try hard to pay Sammy Watkins 15 mil a ;year...and the guy is perma-injured..only 1 year of 1,000 yards...never had double digit TD's...oK he is fast...so get a burner in draft...the JOnes Garrett regime is pure femininity in a mans game....and i will say this...in a way its terrorism...because cowboy managment has terrorized the fan base acting like hairy hatchet wounds

They can still draft a guy...with pick 192. Maybe, they can trade for another player the Cowboys used to have (LB Erik Walden) in a trade back with the Titans to pick 199, they can use that pick on a QB who will become the next Tom Brady.

Everyone happy now?

Hey buddy, no argument from me, I was just thoroughly amused by the "feminine" comment.
