Speaking of competent GM's. Are we willing to pay a G 14 million a season? Would it be prudent to trade Martin to a team with cap space and get draft picks in return. Then we could draft a decent G along with the rest of our needs with the additional picks. I know Martin is a stud but can we afford his salary and still improve this team? Near max salaries at 3 positions on the O line, Max salary for Tank, Dez contract at its current rate, and oh, Dak and then Zeke will want to be paid here in the next few years. We have got to get out of this "restructuring" contracts and kicking money and space down the road. This "signing your own" free agents is not always the best practice, sometimes you have to let these over priced free agents walk for the sake of your salary cap.I like our strategy of not getting too involved with the first wave of FA. Reserve some cap space so you can sign some of these tier 2 "1 year prove it" deals or cap friendly deals for guys that are talented but have been cut from their teams for cap space. Beware of the Zack Attack.
