They traded him away because he can't play outside linebacker in their new scheme.

They traded him because he blew his fingers off with an M-80 and isn't the same dominant force he was before stupidity overcame him. I don't blame the Giants for dumping him. I thought they would have 2 years ago.

Ehh...Carlos and Duke ain't no Barkley. Barkley will make his impact immediately. I don't like any of these quarterbacks. I think all are in the same class. I wouldn't even take a quarterback in the first if I were them.

The Giants have Eli Manning starting at QB so this is basically a case of "have you ever seen a dead body?"
They need a QB and not sure how often they plan to draft top 5.

One way they could make out ok now is to find a team willing to pay franchise QB prices to move up 3-4 slots.
Let the Keller/Prosper, Texas kid, Webb play this year.
Stack draft picks.
They look headed for 4th place in the NFCE again that's for sure.

Exactly. Certain GM's have a working proven philosophy,and his happens to be defensive players. He was brought in to fix that defense and oline. Eli will be the starter. All signs point to Chubb. History is with Gettleman..he hangs his hat on Defense.

exactly right. also might explain why the Cowboys front office isn't extending dudes long term right now and instead is pushing those big money deals to in-season or next off-season.
mcclay might be outfitting a new staff with players next year.

I'm jealous of the Giants and Gettleman. WE NEVER know when its time to part ways with aging talent. By the time we get done with a good player they are ready to be metaphorically taken out to the pasture and shot...like a lame horse...USED UP ANND BROKEN. lol. We can block him, even if it takes two people.
Since we don’t believe in a run stopping 1T, we won’t be slowing Barkley down until he gets to the 2nd level.

Webb will be out of the league in 2 years time...another Paxton Lynch type. Has the physical tools,but the mental part is missing. They will squeeze another year from Eli and draft Chubb at 2. Next year is when they will be searching for a QB.

They picked up a third but dropped down in the 4th round. They swapped fourths with Tampa... so they gave up more in that round than they got.

Ben McAdoo and Jerry Reese were the problem...AND YES ELI TOO. He did absolutely suck..and while I do agree they are hanging on too long with him,can you blame them? Look at the crop of QB's at the top end of the draft...NO ONE is jumping off the screen. I agree though...as much as I admire what the Gmen and gettleman are doing by making trades at the right time...I think 1 big mistake is what you said...hanging on to Eli. He's done IMO..He cant play anymore..we all saw that. Gettleman is a defensive personel guy..his forte isn't on offense.

In all fairness..our defacto GM is Will McClay. He's been good if we are all being honest. Truth is,we barely missed the playoffs last year if not for stupid off the field distractions and suspension. OUR TRACK RECORD in the draft since about 2013-14 has been really decent. Free agency? NOT SO MUCH.Thats where we need to improve IMO.
