You really get a grip on your life if you’re letting sports entertainment cause you this much consternation. It’s laughable that fans think they can gauge what’s really going on behind closed doors.
I'm hardly distressed about this or anything really. It's something I have no control over, unless Jerry is reading this and would like some help...

There's no doubt that Garrett is the ultimate problem with this franchise, but Dez has never been mentally tough enough to play WR in the NFL.

Dez has been a problem child since day one. This team put more effort in trying to manage him and baby sit him than any other team in the league would have.

They dealt with all of the off field issues. The jewelry store, the Walmart video, the mom incident, the house incident. Even after all that they still stuck with him and gave him a huge contract

And his play has been in a steady decline since. The sideline tirades were more common. Missed meetings. Missed therapy. Missing who knows what else.

Then, when the team needs him against Seattle, after he demands the ball, he fumbles it and then promptly goes to the bench and quits. Then, after the year was over he admitted that he was distracted.

And that's only what we know about. And I'm sure I left off some things.

And what does he do, hours after being cut? Starts calling out the captains of this team.

He's a punk kid that feels entitled simply because he has some athletic talent.

Calling him "the player" is even more than he deserves.

I won't deny Bryant's issues. He has his own faults and failings. But I think he's also being made the scapegoat for the faults and failings of other people too. This isn't all on him. And sending yet another player out the door isn't "fixing" anything.

There are weasels and backstage politicians throwing players under the bus when they should have already been sent packing themselves.

If it's about accountability and producing.

Things I won't miss:
  • The camera panning to the sideline for Dez's reaction when something bad happened, when he didn't get the ball enough or wasn't involved in the offense early enough not getting his way.
  • Missing game time during games because he needed an IV because this professional football player can't prepare himself properly.
  • Relying on athleticism instead of becoming a pro
  • Almost caught the ball, almost was inbounds, almost reached the endzone. A life of almost which means jack in the NFL.

With his sit down with Jane Slater, Dez calls out the guys who wore C's on their jerseys and the players he calls "Garrett Guys". Saying they didn't like him and he was whining in typical Dez fashion about how he didn't know why. And he won't call out names but they know who they are and he will text them and let them know. But he kind of gave a lot of them away with the C's on the jerseys statement. In 2017, the players who wore the C were:

Sean Lee, T Crawford, Dak, Witten, Lee, Bailey and Scandrick.

Going to guess Scandrick was always in his corner. Bailey doesn't get involved in that as he's a kicker. They are loners. I doubt Crawford really cared either way. But Lee, Witten and Dak? I am pretty positive they were tired of his tired act. Dak made the comment after the Seattle game that maybe he should put the ball right in his facemask so he can't drop it. Witten was on him in that Detroit game a few years ago when he melted down on the sideline. And left early.

Dez could have easily took the high road and went on about his business. But nope. He thinks him getting cut is some big deal. Players are cut constantly in this league. Even the good ones get this treatment. But remember everyone telling us how mature he has gotten? Lmao. He's still the same immature clown he has always been. This is why Dallas was done with him. His act wore out. And he started to diminish on the field. He was a problem to this team and it's Dez first, winning and team second. He proved that his whole career. But so many fall for his Throw Up the X and team first marketing gimmick he portrays online and they eat it up. Acting like this is some dark day in Cowboys history.

Good riddance Dez. You won't be missed.

Him getting cut is a big deal.

NFL Network is showing Dez’s best games all day tomorrow. Who else has ever had that done for them? This wasn’t a routine departure. It’s a big deal.

He’s probably upset that a bunch of inferior players didn’t have his back.

It's also the dead middle of the off season. They'll be looking for any excuse to show anything right now.

I don’t think witten and Lee are issues other than age or health.

They are above and beyond great on the field and off. I trust their judgement over a child dB WR
Trust me when we have another bad season Garrett will blame it on their age and inability to stay on field. Not his fault.

what?

He played with all kinds of injuries. He played in more prime time games than anyone. he had a target on his back before he even entered the league. He had a controversy with Roy williams during his first camp. etc etc etc.

What is there to mental toughness that he didnt have? He made incredible catches that required immense concentration and physical ability. He was rolled coverage and the focal point of the defenses game plan for years.

Where did he not display mental toughness? he was an emotional player on the sideline and hated to lose.

All this does is prove why he needed to go. I'm sure it has everything to do with "wearing a C" and nothing to do with maturity and not hitting even 900 receiving yards since getting paid.

I mean I hate Garrett but those guys literally can’t be criticized
Not criticizing them either just saying there will always be a scapegoat and you can be a Jason guy but give him the chance between you and him he is going him 10/10. Everyone wants to play for someone like that

It is on the coaches for not developing Dez.

No, it's not all on him. Just like when you get divorced, it's not all on one person... usually.

But that doesn't mean it's not the best decision. If it was only about his on the field play, I think they would have tried to make it work. But it was more than that. And they moved on.

This backstabbing talk is non sense. I've been saying for a while now they should cut him. Im sure the team has talked with him many times. I'm sure Jerry has talked with him in the past.

The writing was on the wall. If he didn't see it, well... it wouldn't be too shocking.

Your criticism of Garrett is fair as a head coach and "offensive guy". But he's not throwing anyone under the bus.
