Then they have really blown smoke on James. No news of any visit, meetings since the draft process started. Hope this won't be another Claiborne thing if they do go up and get him.

I'm on board with that.....love to have James or Vea but I believe Esch will be the pick if the Cowboys don't trade back 5 or 6 spots

Unless Seattle extends him or finds another sucker, ET could be a Cowboy by 2019 (if not sooner) without giving them anything.
 
Cowboys are bad trade partners. Teams have been able to get over on Jerry for years and try to fleece the Cowboys. As a possible overreaction to that, Stephen is too stingy. Also, as a team now, they seem to overvalue draft picks.

Well, his college tape is significantly better than Claiborne and his upside is markedly higher. I would have no problem giving up a third to move up and get him. With all our late round picks, we could easily recoup that third rounder

Personally if we get James, Ro Smith, Evans, Landry, Vea, Payne, Hernandez, Daniels or LVE I'll be happy.

Man I'm down for just about anything that isn't a trade up or a Wide Receiver.


I'll be glad to take a WR if we trade down and do it. I can live with an Olineman but I would also like that position better in a trade down.
 
Remember that there have been several reports in the last couple months of the Cowboys being prepared to use their 2nd to trade up.

I think James would be too rich but Vea would be perfect provided he doesn’t go top 10

Can you elaborate on ET not being traded. As Graziano has a tweet or reported they are talking a 2nd round #50 pick. Which I do not believe, just click bait crap.
 
all these months of waiting and taking Barbi 2.0 would be a letdown
 
I mean, if KR is pounding the table for James, then get him. But I don't see him slipping past 7, let alone Miami. Trade to jump Tampa would cost A LOT.
VV I still see going top 15. He's a freak athlete at 340lb.

Jane Slater reporter earlier today, Cowboys would be interested trading up for either James or Vea, if they fell to around 14. But not higher.
