Hopefully he turns it around as well with Richard. If he does we're loaded in the secondary.
I expect Brown too. I think he kind of turned it around towards the end of the last season after looking lost at the beginning. I'm loving our secondary. Its amazing that this team rebuilt its whole secondary in 2 years....really probably even just 1 year.

I hated how they got rid of our past secondary in one offseason.......but its proven to be smart to do it last season in a deep secondary class.

Update from Mike Silver:

Seatle throwing some smoke out there hoping the Cowboys bite on it for our second round pick. JJ and SJ will call their bluff. If Dallas really wants ET they will offer a third and probably a fifth or sixth round pick.

That's why I want to draft a WR in the second and hopefully this WR core is new as well. Would love to get a 3 or 4 for Beas today and let Switz get his turn. He's the most tradable. Then we can dump Twill next offseason.

Our 2nd round picks always suck...I'm cool with it...our picks later on are too valuable. lol.

This right here is the only reason I'd be okay with the trade. We usually have questionable 2nd round picks anyway, so the odds we'll have a 2nd round pick be better value than an Earl Thomas even in his declining years isn't good.

If we were to start bucking the trend of being "cute" with our 2nd though, I'd rather keep the 2nd. You can get a really good player there and I'm not convinced ET will be anything better than a really good player for us if he can even stay healthy.

We've got enough ammunition to trade back up into the second.
I agree, get Thomas, trade back up and get Sutton or the kid from LSU...We would already have a successful draft at that point imo

FACT: Earl Thomas is the BEST member of the Legion of Boom. The best secondary to ever play in the NFL. Undisputed!

I agree. I like Beasley....but if he's not coming back next year which it seems to point to he may not.....it would be nice to trade him and use whatever pick we get for him to trade up in this draft. I think if they wanted they could do with the receivers that they did with the secondary last season. Whether its Washington, Chark, Miller, St. Brown......I think they can add two guys to this receiving core. But probably won't. I think they feel better about a lot of these guys then they should.

We could have Deion and Rod Woodson and it would matter if we can't touch Rogers.

I think we are helping ourselves out against Rodgers with the LVE pick and moving Jones back to Corner.

If we add Earl Thomas to this then we have a recipe to finally get that guy off the field on 3rd down.

I think if we can get Christian Kirk or Courtland Sutton that's what we need to do, but outside of that Earl Thomas is tempting...

Taking on 29yo ET, in the last year of his contract, for anything more than a 4th round pick (max) would be an old-school, dumb, JJ move.

Why give up a 2nd for a guy in the last year of a @$9mil per contract, who’s gonna want big $$ and multi-years to re-up?

And if we did pull the trigger on Fisher’s suggested deal, but then couldn’t re-sign ET past 2018, that would mean we gave up a 2nd-rd pick, plus @$9mil in salary, for a one year rental.

That's some quality 'sign' reading, if I might say so myself

It's pretty common knowledge that he'll have to sign an extension before we trade for him. If we trade for him it won't be a rental.

At 29yo, ET’s next contract will most likely be his last chance for multi-year/big-$$ guaranteed. If Seattle’s extension offer doesn’t float his boat, ET might opt for UFA in 2019.

But if he DOES get an extension offer he likes, do we really wanna take on an aging safety with a big guarantee?

Also, if the Witten retirement rumor is true, we’ll now have more pressing needs for our #2 pick.
