How soon everyone forgets Cooper Rush. White as 3rd QB does not help Cowboys win any games, let alone contend for a ring.

Not when there are still starting positions that are up for grabs.

I like it. One thing we didn't do enough with Romo was try to develop guys behind him. White definitely needs that development, but he at least has a shot of making it.

I mean, two freaking punters went right after him, so what do the Cowboys really have to lose.

This is silly. Rush was an UDFA. White was projected by a number of analysts as the #6 QB in the draft (including Dane Brugler).

What is silly is that memories are real short around here. Have they really forgotten the last pure pocket passer with the cannon for an arm (Jerry lovingly called him the best arm hes ever seen, much to Troy's chagrin) even behind the best OL (at its peak) in the NFL?

And Weeden was a legit first rounder not some projected 6th best/2nd-3rd day guy.

I just hate drafting back ups when there are still bare spots or needed competition at key starting positions.

Its the end of the 5th round, backups with potential for more are what’s left. The next 2 picks after White were punters.

Could and should have picked up 1-tech DT Kendrick Norton. One of the last few remaining true 1-techs and a type of player of need! Norton is good enough to challenge for a starter role, unlike White at QB.

I'm a huge Dak fan but have no problem taking a QB in the draft. Keep competition and that makes them all better. If Dak is the guy you trade White, if Dak isn't the guy you have a replacement that's being developed. Patriots do this all the time and get picks
