I would rather have had a shorter, stout 1-tech than another tall 3-tech. But he is now a Cowboy and I hope he does great.

I can see it and hear it already. Game break, Oakland, Switzer returns one for a TD... fans go " I frickin told you we should have kept Switzer. He's a beast". Wait for it

I liked Ward coming out. Hes a big, long dude like Hatcher, Irving.

The question is if he can stay healthy. If he does, hes going to be pretty solid over the last half of the season.

Good comparison .......also Chris Canty

Dang, thought for sure they would trade Beasley or Williams before Switzer

Maybe the Raiders didn't want Beasley or Williams? I know I would trade anyone for Williams. My guess is the Raiders refused both players for Ward and we had to upgrade the offer.

Switzer wore out his welcome with his beyond idiotic response to the Rams fiasco!

“Oh oh I’m a really great player and this won’t be the last time I lose a game like this so no one better say anything- get used to me doing this”

I also saw him twerking at one point in All or Nothing- no thanks!!!!!

Switzer's main problem seemed to reside between his ears. Today, he was traded for a DL who was injured by a stress fracture in his foot as a rookie and then by a knee injury a year later. He was also switched between being a DE and as a DT like Crawford was for us. Both are "tweeners."

Both Switzer and Ward were closely as unproductive for their respective teams. Here's hoping both of them do way better for their new teams than the old ones. That way, everyone can be happy with the results. My expectations will be kept at arm's length pending favorable results. Hope for the best.

My friend a Raiders fan is laughing at Dallas. Saying the guy is junk and garbage.

This makes me mad. I saw hope in Switzer

of course he is saying that, just like im sure we are saying similar things about Switzer...both fan bases want to claim victory.

Reality: both guys have done nothing in the nfl and both have potential...neither side can really claim victory on the trade....the only thing both can claim is that neither team had their respective orginal players in their plans going forward and were able to get a player out of the trade that is at a position of need.

fair trade for both teams

Cowboys Trade Ryan Switzer to Raiders for DT Ward
The Cowboys have traded wide receiver Ryan Switzer to the Raiders in exchange for defensive tackle Jihad Ward.

This proved to be the domino effect from a previous trade Saturday to acquire veteran receiver Tavon Austin for the Rams. Austin, a former first-round pick, is also a return specialist who can play in the slot and serve as a third-down back in passing situations.

Switzer should like Carr as a QB.
