Her's my 2 cents. They should have kept Switzer and traded Beasley. Beasley had his on good year and tams caught on to him. They figured out how to stop him and they basically shut him down last year. Switzer seems a little better once he has the football where Beasley was slight and easy to tackle. Switzer appears to have a little more top end speed although I didn't see him as a burner. Switzer is only in his second year contract wise where Beasley is coming up on his option year. I always thought they would let Beasley go in free agency and Switzer would move into his spot.

Its done now so what we think doesn;t really matter. But it will not surprise me if Switzer has a good year with the Raiders. I think "Chuckie" made it clear he liked Switzer a lot when he called the Cowboys games.

Now I do. A hour ago? I would've said no.
May now
But seemed to me Switzer replacing him in a rookie contract was a better plan
But I guess the rest of our receivers in rookie deal after next year serves that same poupose

I'm talking about why did the raiders give up on Jihad? he was a 2nd round pick just 2 years ago
According to the analyst on the NFL Network, Jihad does not fit into the up the field defensive attack the Raiders wont to utilize.

I guess Austin made Switzer expendable, because they have basically the same skillset.

A couple of days ago I stated Beasley had to get traded or go because he doesn't play special teams and offensively....Switzer can offer the same thing she can.

I think the tricky situation here was Beasley if he plays as well as he did two years ago is Dak's safest and most consistent option especially with Witten possibly retiring or retired.

I honestly thought he was a goner. And I guess if Seattle takes a package deal with him included then he may still be gone. But its looking like he's here to stay. Which I have no problem with. Gotta get him back going like two years ago.

I don't see Austin as an upgrade for Switzer. Not sure why they made the trade except that Austin is faster.
No one can dispute Austin's fumbling issues, but as punt returner Switzer is not in his league . Now we could say Switzer was never really given a chance, but when he was given a chance, he never came close to exhibiting the skills Austin has.

We are still going to have to cut at least one WR so at least we used one to fill a need. It's a good trade for us IMO. Beasley stays in the slot and Austin returns punts. What is Switzer doing for us?

I’m glad they’re revamping the position.

We won’t have the thoroughbred but new blood should yield better results.

Switzer wasn’t going to see the field much. Might as well trade him for some defensive help.

We didn't even get to see Switzer's potential as this coaching staff barely even used him. Hopefully this trade works out for us.
It's quite possible the coaching staff barely used him because he didn't show anything worth using.
