We are still going to have to cut at least one WR so at least we used one to fill a need. It's a good trade for us IMO. Beasley stays in the slot and Austin returns punts. What is Switzerland doing for us?
He's doing Luxembourg, which is making Finland jealous. :D

Switzer didn’t show much as a receiver and other than one good return he didn’t do much as a returner. He was taking too many chances on returns from deep in the end zone, not even getting to the 20 yard line.
Yet he was 3rd in KO return avg
He was 12th in punt return avg
1 yard more from being in top 5
He didn’t show much as a receiver till the last game because he didn’t get to
Next year Beasley is gone and he was a clone replacement with much better return skills

People complaining about Switzer's fumble, Tavon Austin has 22 of them on his career stats
I don't see Austin as an upgrade for Switzer. Not sure why they made the trade except that Austin is faster.

They didnt even use switzer, what a joke

Hell probably make the pro bowl next year

I agree they didn’t use him.

He wouldn’t have been used much this year either. It’s better for him to go somewhere and get a chance

Nothing wrong with switz. As a 4th round pick he needed time to develop but obviously started coming on strong as a returner. Ward reminds me of another irving. 6.5 ft 300lbs end that will move inside to DT. Interesting trade....

Switzer was a wasted pick from day 1...I haven’t seen enough of Ward to know whether this is a good trade or not, but there’s a really good chance that Ward plays more meaningful snaps than Switzer ever would have

100 likes for this!

With Beasley here he wasn’t going to get many opportunities. The DT we got in return will likely get a number of opportunities at a position of need and provide some depth.

Cowboys Trade Ryan Switzer to Raiders for DT Ward
The Cowboys have traded wide receiver Ryan Switzer to the Raiders in exchange for defensive tackle Jihad Ward.

This proved to be the domino effect from a previous trade Saturday to acquire veteran receiver Tavon Austin for the Rams. Austin, a former first-round pick, is also a return specialist who can play in the slot and serve as a third-down back in passing situations.
