Personally I wish the Rico experiment would just end.
Let him go shine on another team.

It was still bad regardless. They forgot #4 was the QB and not #9 where you have to build the team around a backup QB because you know he will get playing time. Moore was worse than Rush. Hence why they released him cuz they knew he would clear waivers since you know no one wants him.

I agree. Just stating Linehan loved his adopted son even though Rush clearly was the better of the two QBs. I could get the excuse of him knowing the playbook, but he just wasn't a good NFL QB period.

That's what I'm saying. This staff would rather waste a year of development of a player that really needs it for a QB that sucks and is the offensive coord's boy toy.

The 4th Tight end that needs to be developed should have taken precedent over the 3rd string QB who we should have just made a coach last year.

That's your opinion. The team had its own opinion about a 4th TE that was going to miss half the season anyway (wasn't cleared to even practice until Game 7), and the need for a veteran backup rather than having only a 2nd year QB and a rookie undrafted free agent as the only QBs. You can disagree all you want, but the Cowboys considerations were easily valid.

He was not injured until week 7. He was stashed. If you want to be a sheep and believe everything this staff says as truth then fine. But his twitter on august 30th said Zeus returning soon. Then after the stash he didn't post anything. Why would he post that if he wasn't coming back for 8 weeks. The veteran backup was trash as a player. It's a performance based business everywhere but the cowboys where friendships and politics matter more than actual ability. Kellen Moore did not belong on any roster last year.

Gathers himself said Game 7 was when the doctors cleared him to play. Maybe you need to pay attention more. Hell, even if that weren't true, we are still talking about a 4th TE that really hasn't proved as worthy of playing time as you seem to think. You are simply, and arrogantly, saying your opinion is all that matters. Sorry, but you haven't proved worthy of that kind of consideration either.

Tell that to irving he missed what last 4 weeks due to the concussion he got from cousins.
Tell that to the hundreds of players that came back the same game

Teams can manipulate concussions and players can milk their recovery but Gaither himself admitted it was a sham and he wanted to practice and play

A concussion is not a 6 week injury.......they have a 7 day DL for concussions in MLB

Not all come back in 7 days though, that's just something that is available for those specific players who breeze through the protocol with no signs of any problems. That doesn't apply to everyone. Justin Morneau is the example that jumps out at me. He was one of the best players in MLB, but missed almost 3 months of one season with a concussion.

He admitted it was a sham after Week 7. He said that was when he was cleared to play by the doctors.

to add to it...how do we know they weren't developing him? yeah he was left on IR, but he participated in practices....and as the 4th TE he wouldn't be on game day roster anyway.....so your point is valid....

Rico was told to say that by the team hence his silence on social media after he was designated to IR. It's not me it's the NFL that said Moore was trash since no one batted an eye to sign him to their team. And it's a 4th TE that would not have cleared waivers and would have made someone's 53 last year. Don't be mad at me those are facts and the actions of the rest of the league show what I'm saying is fact. At this point I would take my eyes over what Garett and any of the Jone's tell me.

he was cleared, but was he ready to play? doesn't sound like Rico is all that, despite what he thinks and his two preseason catches..... even if he would be active, probably not on game day roster anyway....if cleared, then he was participating in practices....and he has a lot to learn...with that said...the focus during the season is not to develop a 4th string TE, its to get ready for games each week and the players are developed during practices and perhaps when they play the scout team TE

While true once you are declared to have suffered a concussion it is up to the independent doctors to clear you not team staff. Not there have not been screw ups with people that are truly concussed returning to games.

so what's wrong with stashing a player and continue to develop him....adding him as the 4 TE, would mean cutting somebody else..... and he clearly wasn't ready to play (skill wise)....

Yes Cut Kellen Moore's Bum *** and make him a coach that he wanted to be last year. Instead of wasting a man's year developing and we would know what we have instead of dragging it on another year. It was shortsighted from the front office and staff. He cannot practice while on IR he can be in meetings but can't get on the field.

They should keep as many players as possible. The Patriots have always pushed the boundries of IR.

They kept 4 TEs on the 53. Keeping Rico on IR was not about Kellen Moore.

!00% ...... they wanted to PS him again but he blew up in the 2 preseason games and got noticed

Someone that big shouldn't be that athletic...... so they took the first semi-serious hit and turned it into an IR designation

He was hurt on Aug 16th so he even missed the rest of TC and Pre-season......normally the team would put him on the preseason IR which exposes him to waivers but lets him come back after an injury settlement..... they didn't want to risk it so they put him on the 53 man IR and brought KMoore with the roster spot
