Local, and from people you've met, if you can.
I'm glad there's a decent Farmer's presence, even here. We buy from our local growers that we know.
It's actually not hard! Unless you live in some depraved area that doesn't have local growers that you can't meet...

I've bought asparagus that would make you laugh at a high budget's cooking show, showing off their ingredients.
Shoot... Anyone in the Las Cruces area? Every Saturday there is Farmer's Market that covers multiple blocks, right by the Courthouse, that has some incredible buys.
Some of the best Angus, vegetables, eggs and that one guy that slices off the freshest sprouts you could ever buy at a price that will make you ask him if he's doing this voluntary.
I remember when he decided to go homeless, in protest over the Electric Co... lol. Awesome guy!

Oh, we do buy local, farmers market type of food when available.

needs to be poked frequently and often.
keeping @Ranching coachie happy...

mexican ones use real sugar instead of corn syrup.
not sure if that balances the sugar concentration in the blood over a longer period or not
i would suspect the corn syrup one spreads the sugar concentration at a lower concentration but for longer

since u r type 1, that means you dont produce insulin and have to inject. otherwise the sugar does not enter the cells and u literally starve.

so i think that means u would not often take in large does of sugar. otherwise the kidneys get worked hard. kind of like @dallasdave when he partakes in ur bovine secretions.

it is amazing how much sugar is in coke. it is ~10 packets of sugar instead of the typical 1 for your coffee...

my cart is always about a 50/50 mix of name brand and Walmart's "Great Value" or "Equate" stuff......but like Hardline said, offbrand Cokes are a definite no-no, absolutely gross.....And Shells over elbow macaroni anyday as well

I'd caught a u-tube two minute blurt where a dude put a liter if coke& a liter of coke zero in glass containers for 12 month's, SHEESE! the crap that bottomed out in the regular beverage looked like oilfield holding tank sediment/ road tar,,,,the zero container looked pretty much like he'd just pulled it from the dish washer,,,,but ya-know, WALLY,,,THIS IS THE INTERNET:confused:

I'd never buy any peanut butter but JIF. That's the best. Also won't buy anything but Tobin's first prize bologna.

Hellman's is the first thing I thought of, when reading this. No other mayo is any good.
Reese's Peanut Butter Cups
Bounce fabric sheets (I recently discovered the generic or Arm and Hammer brands just suck.)
Barber stuffed chicken breasts
Beefsteak Rye
Lipton Pure Leaf tea
French's yellow mustard....Gulden's spicy brown
Dawn dish detergent
I am sportin' a shaved head but if I had a barber, I would not let him stuff my chicken breasts.

Kirkland is a generic brand that can usually deliver. But I stay away from other generics when it comes to most food. Same with bathroom tissue - anything but Charmin and you feel like you're wiping your tush with a pine cone.

Facial tissue must be Kleenex. Store brand milk is usually ok though. Generic mustard is ok, but Heinz is the only ketchup.

Being Type 1 sucks... especially when traveling and I'm about to again for a promo tour. I'm not looking forward to it. Having to show a doctor's note to airport security because I have to carry my vials of insulin and needles and a tester... Worrying about going low and there's no way to get to something sugary... it happens. Injecting sometimes in public restrooms because you're about to eat... Things getting hectic so you forget an injection and your blood/sugar goes up to 400... forget to eat and you drop down to 30...

You live in LC? I went to school there. Didn't make it to the farmer's market when I was in school at the time, not sure they even had one.
