How short is Garrett's leash?

I agree with you on that.
it’s an important and critical discrepancy.

We all know Jerry wants to win more than anyone but not enough to get out of the way.

I’m not even sure he wants to win unless he gets some credit for his involvement?

I’m curious why you believe Jerry at 76 provides the Cowboys our best chance to win as our GM?

All the best coaches have retired or died Several coaches that some want here should retire
Why wouldn’t Jerry pursue the best HC candidates out there?? There’s no cap on front office or coaching staffs.

Build the Dream Team in FO and sidelines.

There’s no reason the most financially successful top generating revenue franchise shouldn’t have the most proven and experienced FO and coaching staffs.

Cowboys generate 1/2 billion more than most teams each year .

Why not pay a coach a 100 million. Think anyone would be interested?

Took my favorite coach of all time 10 years to win a playoff game

This is a different era. You can’t retain the talent. Teams are being built quickly with sudden turn arounds.

Must have the eye for talent . Can’t miss on 2nd, 3rd rounds , etc. Hitting only on 1st and a couple rounds each year takes too long.

Either need an elite QB and or defense to go deep. There’s no time to surround lesser talents with more support.

We need a front office , scouting dept and coaching staff that drafts a stud potential HOF QB and hits in a couple drafts with 7 or 8 starters with enough support around your stud QB.

The QB alone isn’t enough but without a top defense everything else isn’t enough. There really is no other substitute this era.

Look around the league this era. Who’s playing in Super Bowls? Elite QB and defenses.

Landry had some great teams and very good QB’s but only won Super Bowls with HOF QB and Doomsday defenses.

I was watching film of Kris Richard interacting with the secondary and I couldn't help thinking that this is the type of personality that I want coaching my team. He is more Bill Cowher than Jason Garrett and that is a great thing. With that in mind, how bad does the Cowboy start have to be to replace Garrett with Richard by midseason? Would an 0-3 or 1-4 start do it? That would definitely make the rest of the season more fun and interesting to watch. And I am only assuming that Richard would be the next man up but I think that he was brought here for that reason. What say you?

Longer than your lifespan and mine
