But Seattle is faced with the reality that Thomas can walk after the season and they wouldn't get one iota of compensation. The Rams don't have that concern, therefore they aren't forced to make a decision the way the Seahawks are.
If we are just talking about wishful thinking, there are a lot of player many of us would love to have, but we (and the Cowboys) have to be realistic about the fact that just because we like a player doesn't mean there is an opportunity to make a reasonable trade for him. Thomas is in the discussion because we know Seattle has been trading veterans to build for the future, and because Seattle has been open to the idea of trading Thomas. That's entirely different than what the Rams have indicated.
There's nothing to force Seattle either, they're not giving him away, there's no market for Thomas other than Dallas.....if he walks after this year, they get a high compensatory pick...Dallas would be asinine to trade away a second round pick and pay a safety 13 million a year....This team need a dominant defensive linemen more than a overpriced safety
