Why can't we just keep Rico for red zone purposes?

It is really disappointed to see a guy with his physical tools flush it down the toilet. Instead of making Instragram videos where he is pretending to practice his blocking technique on a kitchen floor, he should have hired a coach in the offseason to help him improve.

It is time to face facts: He probably won't make the team.

No it is really absurd to think he is a red zone target because he is 6'7". He is 285 - you might as well say that Byron Jones is a red zone threat because of his vertical! His reach is probably greater
It's absurd to think that being tall is his only attribute......

Do you know that he didn't

Do you know that he didn't

Nope, but he would probably post it on IG, since he posted other stupid videos of him pretending to be working to improve. He made his IG private, or I would post some links to what I am talking about. The proof is in the pudding.

You said probably, so in other words, you dont know........

Forget RZ purposes, you mean to tell me he cant run a 5 yard out on 3rd and longs the way Witten did the last decade?

Sure. I do know that right now he is getting beat out by an undrafted no-one in Jarwin, a late 4th round blocking TE.
Getting beat out is fair, Being attacked by a bunch of know nothing wanna be coaches is not. I respect your opinion because you are smart enough to call yourself the Village Idiot. Salud!!

I am sure if he asked some of the coaches would have met him at the facility and worked with him.

he looked great in preseason last year, a full camp plus preparing for these 4 games he could surprise
he may not
i would appreciate it if he did though :D

Regardless of how athletically gifted a person is, to be successful in the NFL you actually have to be great at football.

He had his hat on backwards too. He is sure to fail.

I mean why not? We've kept people on active roster who never should be and don't contribute.

He'd be replacing what Dez did, and opening up things for Zeke.

I'm not sure I like going into the redzone and creating plays and executing like Brady.

Stop the fade to Rico, or stop Zeke

Lol, you want to keep 4 TE's and one of thos for red zone purposes only? How about we see what the other three can do in red zone play before we devote 1 spot in the 53 to Rico

If we keep 4 TEs we can, but if we only keep 3 the backups need to be well rounded enough to step in and play all aspects of the position if needed.

Rico has to be the greatest pre-season beast of all time to have done nothing in the NFL. Lots of pre-season beasts never panned out but this guy hasn't played a single game!! Not only that, he was eligible to come off IR last year around game 8, but the Cowboys opted to add Jarwin to the 53

If he's good in the red zone, he is also good n short yardage. That's way more than 3-4 plays a game. The question is, IF?

Kinda different situations- I certainly don't want a TE who isn't a solid blocker on short yardage plays
