based on what? his observations? he can't hit side of a barn? so he has had no completions past 10 yards? or even 50%....but I have seen videos where he has hit WRs in deep routes.

or maybe just maybe, a little bit, he is trying to create some buzz and get some clicks, viewers and attention.....just sayin.....

...or maybe just because it's an exaggeration doesn't mean there is no truth to the fact he's been incredibly inaccurate in camp.

I love when people read a phrase that has been used forever and suddenly take it literally. Don't play obtuse.

I'd trust someone who has been watching practices every day compared to someone on this board who has watched a few clips of twitter video.

Maybe I am wrong on this, but I don't believe Cavanaugh has ever been one of those types to try to create a story out of nothing. Further, he's not been the only one who has raised the issue of Prescott having some issues on intermediary or deep routes.

I wouldn't panic at this point but I think there's nothing wrong with being a bit nervous about the progression of Prescott. There is a crap ton riding on him being the guy. If he isn't....... we have some issues.

More and more people coming out and recognizing Dak's deficiencies. Everything better be perfect around him during the season. Otherwise, watch for scared-Dak to reemerge.

I would prefer more arm talent from my QB but Dak is gamer. His production thus far has been enough to win games.

Yeah, he can't throw a ball through a tire but suit him up and put him in the game and his completion percentage is more the satisfactory.

Dak gets the benefit of the doubt until he consistently stinks it up in regular season.

Just listened to podcast and he is 3rd person at practices that has said this. Basically, Dak can't hit side of barn past 10 yards. Under 10 yards, Dak is fine. But is missing badly on intermediate and deep throws when WR has DB beat. My concern is this starts to work its way into head of new receives especially rookie Gallup.

Jeff says Dallas will have to be lights out dominant in running game to have fighting chance this year. But when teams are one-dimensional on offense they are relatively easy to neutralize. So my thoughts on this are:

1. Dallas should become heavy screen-pass team to off-set lack of ability to throw downfield. It won't be pretty but its way to give Defense another wrinkle to worry about.

2. Dallas defense will need to be shut-down or gambling defense. Two stats I look at for success are 1) pts per game allowed and 2) turnovers. I still think Dallas could be playoff team even with Dak deficiencies IF the defense is top 5 in fewest pts allowed or turnovers.

2. OL better eat nails for breakfast. There is no way around this. Entire OL has to have career years. Every D coordinator in league will stack box and dare Dak to consistently beat them down field with long throws. Not only will OL need to beat their man...but they will need to win multiple battles at same time because they will be out-numbered. Its special group and we will find out shortly how special.

He is doing what I call: Broaddusing

He predicted Dak wouldn't be good going way back and he now thinks he sees proof that he was correct.

It's also called confirmation bias.

He was butt-hurt the Cowboys didn't trade up for a QB he wanted in the draft (Goff).

if the coaches put him in his strengths, i ll ride with Dak. My problem isnt Dak right now, I want to see the coaches to use him correctly. You want the mobile QB, you gotta get creative.

Why do you guys do this? You know how many passes are thrown in camp?

If he's posting this but also stating Dak is having accuracy issues, if anything, it's showing there is no bias here. There are obvious issues with Dak happening that he's pointing out.

He was never an accurate passer so this shouldn't be alarming. The fact that our coaches kept Romo on the sidelines when he came back 2 years ago should have gotten them fired. Romo could have finished that year and the next with Dak as our back up and we might have number 6....

Dak was completing about 68% of his passes when Romo was cleared to play again, so it's plain false to suggest accuracy problems should have put Dak on the bench at that point. I also believe he may have had the best QB rating in the NFL at that time - he was at least 2nd behind Rodgers.

Here's an idea. Let's use the WCO. That is a style of offence that plays to Dak's strengths and allows us to use Zeke effectively too.

Folks said the same thing about Dak in his first training camp ... and then he went out and wowed everyone in the first preseason game against the Rams. He went on to have one of the greatest rookie season of any NFL quarterback. Last year he was terrific until Zek and Tyron went out.

I won't worry until there's a problem in actual games.

Wait a second............ is Cavanaugh the guy who claimed earlier this year that Prescott would fail and Mike White would be the starter?

If true, I confused Cavanaugh for someone else.

Daks never been a great practice player, in his rookie season Showers was getting all the training camp praise, but when the lights came on he was good, so I’m not worried

It's because Dez can't run routes, Witten is slow, Zeke is out, Chaz Green sucks, and Linehan can't call plays. Did I miss any excuses?

Except he wasn't saying this last training camp and was actually liking what he saw from Dak, here is a quote by him

"105.3 The Fan’s Jeff Cavanaugh says that Dak “looks like the league MVP” and “600%” better compared to last year’s training camp."

Stop talking out of your butt. He seems to have less bias than you.

it worked for Garcia. Im down with it if it helps Dak.

And, it worked for McNabb and Westbrook. Like I said in another thread. I read a lot how Dak's comparable to McNabb, and I recall that one of the RBs that Zeke modeled his game after was Westbrook. They were, admittedly, a powerful duo until McNabb started to falter, and Westbrook got older. Additionally, until TO got there, they didn't have the best WRs, but they did run effective routes. We don't have to BE the 2000-2004 Eagles, but that would be a good model for our offence to use considering the players we have.
