Dak clearly needs to get better on those back corner fades to Dez that Romo excelled at. But if Gathers has a foot and 100 pounds on a slot corner, you can lob the ball.

Best TE on the roster

This is obvious to the average fan but to an anal coach who's brother was assigned to be TEs coach here at one point and having the number one student of the game at the position they tend to over coach/value/train/expect too much now. It's over coaching of a position. Just let the guy play. He was excellent at pass blocking too. He did better than our backup OTs.

It's pretty simple. Put him in on pass plays and let him tear up LBs and safeties. I could care less if he cant block. Let him create problems for pass defenses. All this blocking paranoia by our coaches is flat out idiotic.

I've said it before, but I believe the "he can't block mantra" is coming as much from the pro-Gathers guys as the anti-Gathers guys, and for the purpose of saying he is still valuable if he doesn't block so well. I think that's a huge oversimplification of the issue with Gathers. The bigger issue is the understanding of the game. Every other player had an extra 9 years growing up to learn the details and nuances and intricacies of the game, and to develop instincts for the game. That's the bigger issue he has to get past, because if he misses assignments it can kill drives unnecessarily and it can even lead to the QB getting hurt.

If he is doing great getting past those hurdles, he has a good chance of making the team. Otherwise it will be tough.

Come on man it’s simple. The more complete player he becomes the more you can play him and use him. Our **** is predictable as is already, imagine only having him in on passing plays.

It might be necessary to call an audible on a play, changing it from a pass to a running play.

Even that one catch he had last night...Caught it with his hands on a ball behind him...clutched it while being hit. All other TEs on the roster drop that.

Make him your 3rd down and long and redzone TE. Problem solved.

He caught two 6 yard passes, and there was nothing special about either.
