I agree nightman...I struggled staying awake for that turd of a what we call an NFL game. Seemed like the refs had more face time than the players. Had a weird preseason feel to it...That first half was really difficult to get into or excited about.

Yes and that's going to alarm both the league and nets because all of the flags and stop downs weren't to blame because the decline was from the get go. Weather delay will be used as an excuse but I am not buying that but it is still only one game, I will be interested in how the opening weekend does.

One of the measures they will be focusing on a lot is the tune in/tune out during the games and I'd bet with the late start and stop downs on that game, it was one of the worst in the past several years. That is one of the measures agencies have used for night games since they had those late starts on MNF to accommodate the Mtn/Pac time zones.

But even by the usual standards for opening weekend, that was a terrible opening game and the pretend season was not used to get them ready for opening night but I can't blame coaches for that. Their owners want the pretend game money but won't hesitate to fire them if they fail because of losing players in meaningless games.

Except for a couple of games, the college opening weekend was pretty sloppy as well.

agree. If they wanna improve ratings..take the refs out of the darn equation..they are basically deciding these damn ball games! We need refs, but lets get the rules fixed so its not so damned watered down,the product on the field is almost laughable. ****, a form tackle is almost a penalty on every single play! Roughing is almost a penalty than can be called on every other down! We saw a taste of that last night. Its pretty alarming.

I went to bed right after halftime. No way was I going to stay up late to watch that mess and as I suspected an eagles win. Atlanta totally blew that first half. That was enough for me.

Both teams have really good defenses and defense are usually ahead of offenses early in the season. I hate Philly, but they don’t suck. I wish we would have added Bennett to our front 4, not Ash!!!

No, I don’t think Philly sucks, but they did in this particular game - at least on offense. I don’t expect their offense to continue being that weak.
