Receivers Not Getting Open

Someone pointed back to Dak's combine profile.

What we're seeing is a replay of his college years, as meticulously *documented* in great detail in Dak's combine profile. It's like the guy was watching the last half year while he wrote it.

Ugh.

WEAKNESSES
Beat up this year thanks to poor protection. When he wasn't being sacked, he was being hit hard. Not as competitive a rusher in 2015. Sacks and usage in run game might be taking a toll. Increase in short pass attempts from 86 to 208 this year reason for higher completion numbers. Accuracy on intermediate and deep throws dropped sharply. Pocket poise has been compromised. Hyper aware of pressure around him and lacks awareness to slide and find temporary shelter to make throw. Concern over pressure too often trumps ability to get through progressions. Must speed up the pace of his reads. Footwork is a mess. Slight stride onto stiff upper leg with little weight shift. Restricted follow through and too often tries to muscle throws with upper body. Throws to target rather than leading or throwing them open on short/intermediate throws. Too respectful of underneath coverage and must be more willing to challenge the defense. Needs to improve anticipation.

Yeah, he isn't going to improve with a rookie QB coach and no competition.

don't see how moore can fix it unless he's handing out nerve, and accuracy pills.

They showed them once or twice, and it showed an absolutely terrible scheme. They basically ran out a few yards and turned around. It was disgusting.

That's what most receivers do.

It was a mix of Receivers not getting open and Dak having one of the worst games ever. There were a couple of Plays with wide open guy that he never saw either cause of rust or running for his life cause the interior of the O-Line fell apart through Williams and Looney.

It's the seventh time in his last nine games that Prescott has failed to eclipse the 200-yard mark.

We watched an offensive passing scheme dominated by one and two TE sets. The Tes on our team are practice squad players at best. What a bunch of ignorant coaching to have any of these tes in on any passing plays whatsoever.

There is no receiving talent at the Te position besides Gathers lol. If all of our tes would have gotten hurt and we had to put nothing out there but wrs and running backs we would have done 10 x better. You can't put a non deep threat Te in on a 3rd and 23 and act like he's a receiver and expect him to win in statistically inept situations. We couldn't win with #82's measely 4 tds and 3 plays over 20 yards every year and these tes will never even match those weak #s.
It's time to think seriously of making Rico a starter at Te. We also need to run more 4wr and 2 Rb sets. This te group we saw tonight was simply embarrassing to watch. It was 2te formations all night and there was zero ability to score or beat anyone and wow an embarrassing 6 points. No wonder!!!

Rico or bust! With or without the weed penalties, injuries.etc. We don't want to see swaim trying to emulate Jason Witten. First of all he can't be #82. Second of All # 82 didn't win beans either

We don't have a decent pass catching te that played tonight but every pass play called was a 1-2 te formation. I could see some 1 te formations sometimes but 2 te formations are really ignorant when you got nothing.

Stubborn play calling, little in the way of making the most use of the talent we actually do have. Instead of putting the best 11 guys out there on offense and changing the formations to account for the personnel, the coaches insist on continuing to put multiple TEs out there who are little more than warm bodies. It's frustrating as hell. Might as well be fielding 9 guys out there.

Are all of these tight ends guardable by anyone on the defense?

That is exactly what I saw.

Seriously, what sort of scheme is that? No wonder no one could get open and Dak couldn't find receivers.

OMG....till when will we read these excuses .....get Dak A. Brown and J. Jones and he will still STINK!!!!!

I'm out of the country right now and won't get to watch the game until next week. But last year, when the run game wouldn't work, the pass game completely stopped too. From what I'm reading, this seems to be the case again this year. I'd kind of hoped for a better season this year.
