An advisor to help build an offense that maximizes talent

he modernized alabama's offense and many think he is a real genius offensive mind.
he also is supposed to be good in adapting the offense based on talent.

now he is a really difficult person and probably not someone you want to bring in as a coach.
but jerry can pay him and bribe the school for a day per week as an advisor.

Forget the advisors, consultants, gurus and professional babysitters. Get a quality head coach, let him pick his own staff, and start to build a real system in Dallas that will produce football players and develop a philosophy that will define the franchise no matter what coaches or players pass through. Then pass on any players that don't fit into that philosophy.

Quit trying to redefine and rebuild the franchise around what they think is the fastest way to being competitive based on the players that happen to be on the roster each year.

set the big picture and let the dumb coaches follow instructions.

of course i would like a real hc and a smart oc.
but that is being realistic in the middle of the season.

i seem to recall they did it in a nice way as marinelli was slowly moved in.
kind of like how richard is being slowly put into position to take over.

That is exactly what I was thinking!!!!!!!

They hired him on Friday, then fired him on Monday because they didn't like what he had to say!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Only way I see him leaving FAU is a power 5 team offers him a HC gig or he is an OC in the NFL.

If your offensive coaches need a coaching advisor, you hire new coaches. This is the NFL. This isn't where you're supposed to have training wheels.

This. We've tried that before and it really hasn't worked all that well. I don't see any reason to expect anything differently. In fact, all that would do, IMO, is provide more cover for this coaching staff. Honestly though, if you need an adviser, then why are you paying the guys you are paying to coach? That doesn't make sense to me. JMO
