Maybe Garrett would do better if he knew he was on the hot seat

Link?....I don't think Parcells was fired, he wanted to get away from our lunatic GM.

First I've heard about Bill being fired. In fact Jerry tried to talk him into coming back, and He gave Wade longer than he should have.

COME ON NATION

JJ After Parcells said to him quite clearly..bring in TO and i will probly not be back after my contract ends, Jerry did it anyway..Parcells left when his contract ended..Jerry fd up, Again..And is still fing up along with Stephen..

ONCE AGAIN and all of you new car fans need to get this through your brains..Most of the issues that are on display are directly related to Stephens screw ups at trying to replace Leary, replace Free coz retirement and a complete joke at signing backup oline depth..STEPHEN also responsible for that crapshow at backup qb in 2015..We still dont have depth there..

Although it may wind up happening since the FO likes for Garrett to take the criticism, a change their will be the end of the Cowboys franchise imo. Or at least another 5-6 years of even worse football..

Neither JJ or Stephen will hire a quality NFL Coach or give the the athority or the tools to do the job..There are so many examples of their screw ups managing this team.. they simply dont football..

This team at this point is not a playoff team, and if they struggle the next several games its probly going to happen anyway. MAYBE your expectations need to be adjusted..

You just pointed to several mismanagements of the roster but kind of want to ignore Garrett's role in it?

I realized along time ago that Garrett is the only reason they have been as good as they have been..I dont consider him the best head coach for the Cowboys, However he at present is the right coach, and remember this after you get what you think you want, you will realize I was right on..

But he's had a lifetime in NFL years to produce whatever the utopia is that he's supposed to bring and his brand of football has always relied on just about everything going right in order for us to have success.

Would y'all be against JJ hiring Belichick to run the entire football department? Obviously it's unlikely to ever happen. I'm just curious if you'd be for it (Seeing as how Belichick treats the media bad. And SpyGate...)

Garrett didnt have any role In Chaz Green..That was a reach by Stephen..You should be able to reason that due to last years cluster when they gave the job to Green without competition...Cooper should have told you that..

Be fine with me, However JJ wont do it..Belichek has Personnel control @ New England..Take that away from JJ and Stephen and their egos get stepped on..JJ thinks and has always thought he footballs..The value of the team convinces him he was right, not the outcome of what is on the field!

Remember what I said, In the dynamic of the front office with the Cowboys, Garret is the best coach for this team..YOU say the lifetime Garrett has been coach, do you remember the lifetime between Jimmy and Parcells?

Give me hope over the Garrett process at this point.

I think Garrett has had some good rosters but he does not maximize potential and if there is a hole on the team he doesn't scheme well around it.

He's had his time.

I'd rather fail and be entertained then good every 5 years when the stars perfectly align and mediocre for most of the time.

He may not be on the hot seat for 2018, but his 2019 is not guaranteed. Garrett has enjoyed more leeway than most coaches, but he understands there are no guarantees, and there is a limit to the leeway. Besides, what reason do we have to believe Garrett isn't already doing the best he can, and it's not just that his best isn't good enough? Telling someone to try harder isn't really a plan.

LOL, so basically you are just telling everyone to be content with mediocrity . Anyway, in response to the OP : Garrett isn't capable of doing any better regardless of any pressure that's put on him. He is what he is...

I have been around this team since the 1970s..,I flat hate Jerrys guts and ive developed a large disdain for Stephen as well..I am not fooled by the painted thigh of change in the coaching staff at this point to fix the issues because a new coach wont fix the personnel GM in charge..

It would not have fixed Fredbeards issue, nor the complete lack of depth on the oline this year or last year..If you can wave the fairy dust and fix that with a vague coaching change, i guess you play alot of Madden..

Jerry and Stephen are simply bumbling inbreds from Arkansas...

No you are trying to put your fingers in my text box..Im telling you very clearly a new coach wont work..If you study real hard you should realize this..

I wish this wasnt the case, because I hate to take the con in this..I remember the joke of head coaches Jerry trotted in here after he ran off Jimmy. I remember Jerry Flat pissing on Parcells. Ill give you a example of something that should cause you pause..In the offseason the cowboys sent Frank Pollack the oline coach packing, Further they made Moore qbs coach..Lets look at that..Alexander was a good choice but do you see any benefit yet to either choice at Qbs coach or oline coach?...FRANK paid the price for Stephens stupidity..

At this point I think Unless Garrett does what he usually does and gets his players atten and turns it around, you wetears will get what you think you want..Actually making a post for what is probly going to happen is somewhat naive anyway..

If JG has failed to get better after 8 years, he's not getting better.

There's no amount of doing better that some fans are going to accept, because any failure anywhere in the organization rolls down to coaching whether it ought to or not.

I'd settle for actually getting a win past the divisional round in the play-offs for the first time since 1995.

Yeah, and the inability to do so you'd blame on the coach. Even when it's painfully obvious we haven't assembled the talent on the field to stop Aaron Rodgers, down by 5, with 2 minutes to go and a timeout in his back pocket.

Thank you, picks of Randy Gregory and Jaylon Smith, which to date really haven't paid off.

Mo, Gregory, Jaylon. All expensive whiffs. If you miss on a guy, you have to replace that value via FA. I've mentioned it before, but think if we'd taken Fletcher Cox instead of Mo at #6 overall there we'd have won that Dez-Caught-It game in GB in 2014? I do. Or give us pick-your-capable-defender in 2016. We needed one guy to make one play to pull that one out.

It's tough to build a contender. We've done a lot of things right, but we've fallen short. The NFL is all about avoiding the expensive or long-term mistakes. It's what Roseman has done such a great job of for Philly.
