They are not true Cowboy fans . They are not concerned . They are the tribe of butt hurt Romos just trying to minimize everything Dak accomplishes.
A bitter miserable group that we will have to deal with for the foreseeable future . No matter what amount of success Dak ever helps this team achieve it will never be enough .
I don't mine criticism of Dak. A lot of it is warranted. I just find it funny that they will go to extreme lengths to defend Romo against any criticism at all, while also going to extreme lengths to complain about everything they can think of about Dak. They hate when Dak does something and complain about it, point out Romo did it and then watch the excuses flow for why it was acceptable for Romo to do the same thing. Good times watching Romo fans lose their minds.

The thing I miss the most. Don't forget miles Austin. Romo knew how to read a defense. Even though at times he got suckered. Dak has a ways to go still pre snap and sometimes post snap.

Yup, sorry, I did forget Miles Austin. Have a bit of a hangry headache.

That's the other element of this. The running game is suffering because Dak can't play the numbers. This is something Romo did very well. If you crowded the line, he was going to beat you in the air. Dak can't do it.

I don't care what Sturm or the Calculator Kid have to say. When a QB throws for 96 yards over 58 minutes that player sucks.

They will try to decieve you with numbers that can be manipulated any way you wish. Trust what you see. He can't play. He's a QB who can't throw the football.

15/25 for 96 yards and no TDs after the bomb to Austin. In a game that desperately needed someone to make a play on offense. You only win games that way if you're facing a terrible opponent or your defense balls out or both.

It is absolute fansanity to watch that performance on Sunday night and think the QB played well or efficient or whatever other BS term you want to attach to it. He sucked. As a thrower of the football.

Do you ever get any pleasure out of following the Cowboys?

There are QBs who had better stats for yardage and TDs on Sunday over Dak and they still lost the game. Sure Dak has to still work on improving his game. But, I'll still take a under a 200 yard game and a win every single time.

What did their defenses do? Who did they play?

Sadly true. The question why we redundantly run against stacked lines for little to no success without audibles is one I've asked many times. I would hope by now Dak has the power to audible out of called plays

The words 200 yards will not win you play off games were written. And this is a thread about one player named in the title of it.
Ok the technicality defense but now I've corrected my mistake so from here forward we can go on that not the techicality by my bad posting mistake. Dak isn't that good that's the thing I got about the one player in this thread. You disagree fool time will reveal who's right

Why not? Joe Flacco, Jim McMahon, Brad Johnson, Doug Williams, etc.—they did.
All time great defenses for all of those players (don't know about that Washington team) but try again unless you think this is an all time great D. Y'all gotta be trolling.

And if Sean Lee gets hurt? Lawrence?

Then we won’t be as good! Nothing is guaranteed! What if the plane crashes? What if a comet hits? What if Dak gets the flu? What if Joe Looney drops something heavy on his foot right before the game? R-E-L-A-X!

This falls in line with what I've said for years.......win the battles of scoring, TOP, and turnover ratio along with a top defense. You'll win a ton of ball games. To be honest, I actually read a quote from Belichick a few years ago. As he put it, he could care less about total offensive yards as long as he won those battles.

BTW....seems obvious to me if you winning games passing less than 200 yards, you probably have a strong running game and top defense and QB with strong ball security.

Absolutely but I have been told here over and over that the QB is the reason teams win Super Bowls and if a QB does not win a Super Bowl he is not elite. Those two things don’t go together.

We APPEAR to be trending toward a great defense, but some people are determined to be miserable.

THINK about this people
We are in the 7th page of a thread about something that is so absurd that it happens 28 times for every 6200 games!

Less than 1/2 of 1% of the time

So what makes you happiest, the Cowboys winning, or being “right”?

What did their defenses do? Who did they play?

Some of those defenses gave up lots of points which made their QBs have to throw up in a shoot out or high scoring game to still lose. Even though it's early Dallas looks to have one of the top five-ten defenses in the NFL. With a QB who knows how to manage games and not turn the ball over, while moving the ball/scoring enough points, that can get and has gotten many teams to the playoffs and has even won them Superbowls.

So, at the end of the day I'll still take winning over stats.

I think Dak is serviceable with a really good defense. Only time will tell what Dak can become if he fixes his flaws. He has a ways to go. I'm not a blind Homer. But to nitpick a win and beat down a QB who had a much better game 2 than game 1 doesn't make sense to me.

The problem is when people try to use statistics to prove their agenda rather than to reflect reality.

The problem is Dak isn't able to beat good defenses and good teams through the air, and time after time that will catch up with this team. Will, you beat poor teams like the Giants? Maybe. Will you occasionally beat a good team? Sure. Will you win consistently enough to make it through the playoffs? I seriously doubt it.

In this game the defense won the game. What happens when you play a team with a QB better than Eli? An offense more consistent that the Giants, who by the way rank 29th in the league in points per game (guess who they are tied with, the Cowboys...). Dallas is also 30th in yards.

So yeah, you can beat poor teams, but when you play good teams, and we will, we're going to struggle.

The real question for everyone should be how the low yards stat ranks on the way to the super bowl. My guess is it doesn’t work out so well. If anyone here wants less than a super bowl then the bar is too low.
