Could be wild week in Jerry World

Just finished listing to Podcast with KT and he is hearing whispers from Ben Rogers (who has been correct several times & has good sources) that following might transpire in next week or so:

1. Tony Romo & Dez Bryant might be signed. Dallas currently has $18 million in available cap space.
2. Current league rules on QB would heavily favor Romo return.
3. Dez Bryant continues to insist with Mike Fisher that he still sees himself as Dallas Cowboy.

Buckle in. The internet will break if this goes down.
I love Romo, but signing him at this point would just reek of desperation

He’s delusional. He also thought he was ready to come back against the Panthers. He was ready alright, ready to give the Panthers the win with 3 INT’s, 2 of which were pick 6’s. He then went down in the 3rd quarter and was out for the rest of the season.

He actually came back the week before against the Dolphins and won the game, although he was bad in the Panthers game

Peyton Manning went to two SB's after a herniated neck at 39/40. Fused spine, much worse then what Tony ever had.

Prior to that, Manning played 13 full seasons without missing a game. Adding in playoff, that's 275 straight games. Up to that point in his career, he'd never missed a game.

There really is no comparison between Romo and Manning in this regard.

Romo is 38 and mistake prone. I know a lot of you guys weren't around, probably young, and hadn't seen or experienced a real QB, but just be patient. I'm certain that if we suck this year, Jerry will sell the farm to get a top rated QB in the draft. But please, let Romo RIP. (retire in peace)

I generally agree, and that's the problem. We are structutre and coached in a way that we will probably never really suck. Unless something like Zeke gets hurt, but then JJ has an excuse. I see no real changes in the horizon, just many more years of being "close" in Jerry's words.

None of this will happen.

Romo is 38 and injury prone. He hasnt played Football for 2 years. Even if the new rules give us Flags, hes still one hit away from a potential wheelchair. Flag or not. Way too risky. He makes Millions sitting in the booth and has a Family with several children to take care of.

Dez could have happened if he would have shut his mouth in social media. The way he threw half the Locker and the Coaches under the Bus in Public will not make a return possible. This would be even more Drama on the Sideline and in the Locker than ever before.

Everyone is one hit from a potential wheelchair.

These kind of comments would be amusing if they weren't so sad.

What happenned before the fused spine is not relevent the comparision is to what happenned after the fused spine surgeries and what he was able to do. Aaron Rodgers has missed multiple games because of leg and 2 broken collarbone injuries. Is he injury prone?

And that completely misses the point.

The only injury Romo had that you would worry about affecting him in the future is that disc issue he had. And that is in fact similar to Manning.

I think it's less likely Romo would break a collar bone today than in 2010 (considering his efforts to fix the issue with that). I am no more concerned about Romo breaking any bones than I was in 2008, 2010, or 2011 (4 broken bones in that stretch - including a second in the 2nd game back from the first).

The comparison is two men around the same age coming back from spinal injuries.

Didn't they just win a game? Didn't Dak lead a final drive? Hasn't Dak looked better of later? Isn't the trajectory pointing up with the OL remembering how to block?

Romo and Dez is just the type of thing PT Barnum would do.

I don't buy this info for a second but let's just say it is accurate and the top brass is considering doing this. That would have to mean they have decided they will be moving on from Garrett and Linehan in the near future and that they no longer see Dak as the future franchise QB. You couldn't make these moves and expect for those three to be key members of the team moving forward for very long.

If the Cowboys have lost all faith in Dak, just let the season play out. If he plays poorly, the Cowboys will have a bad record and be in position to draft a QB high in the 1st round.
If by some miracle Romo comes back, plays well, the Cowboys still won't win the Super Bowl and will just be in a poorer draft position.
Really, Cowboys should be using the rest of this season to determine whether DAK is the long term answer or not. If he's not, move on. Forget Dez, Romo, Witten, etc.

Tony "might as well win them all" Romo isn't coming back. What's his motivation? This isn't a superbowl ready team. He said he was healthy, he didn't say he was planning a come back and specifically the Cowboys. The guy hasn't played a handful of games since 2014. Not sure why people think they would be getting 2014 Romo. Must not have watched 2015 where he underwhelmed and was the worst player on the field his last start. Time to put the pipe down and move on.
The guy is 38 not 28 and the reason he is healthy is that he's been in a broadcast booth the last 2 years. The legend grows......
