Rooting has little to no tangible effect outside a sports arena. How do individuals feel personally rooting for a negative effect impacting no one other than themselves?

It's usually met with "you aren't a real fan if you root for a loss."

No, I'm a smart fan.

I still don't think you are a real fan if you root for a loss...but being apathetic or not caring is fine....i just can't pull for the cowboys to lose but won't attack anyone that doesn't agree with my view

Tanking is for those who would accept losing as a strategy for maybe(?) possibly(?) winning in the future.

No thanks.

What criteria did you use in quantifying 'most of us'? Not saying you are wrong. The site receives thousands of guests daily who do not log in. Hundreds of registered members do log in but do not post comments. At most, several dozen members post comments on any given topic each day...

totally unscientific
however i have just seen the tanking sentiment from those who i got in big arguments with last year when advocating tanking after falcons game

The team isn’t going to tank so might as well give up on that. Now they may still get a top 10 pick because they are a middle of the road team and will play in a lot of close games. I’m on board with drafting a QB in the first round but that still doesn’t mean they’ll pick the right one.

Is there a personal estimated count of 'from those'?

Lol my gosh. What a bunch of give ups.

Our division is a complete cluster. If the Commanders lose tonight (likely), then we are half a game out of first. The goal is making the playoffs and that is still very much alive.

It’s out of our control and it’s clear we can’t throw the football.

I won’t cheer against the Cowboys but our coaching and QB put us at such a disadvantage that losing just makes sense for the long term.

i am not keeping a count, but lets just say that i had huge arguments with at least 8 people and 3 of those now agree with tanking
furthermore, instead of attacking, many now say - i cannot advocate tanking myself, but i will not attack those who r for it.

Any guesses when the team will collectively adopt a tanking philosophy? October? November? Never?

Tanking sets a culture of losing. You don't try to lose one year and then turn it around the next. This team is young. They should play and practice hard and create a pattern of winning.

Now if you want a high draft pick for a QB, for example, it is better to figure out how to get one without asking your team to quit.

The trends indicate this season will likely result in no postseason.

Which is better for the franchise? Finishing the season 4-12 or 5-11 or going 7-9 or 8-8?

The next QB is still going to be bouncing passes off his receivers and into the hands of the defense if we don't fix the other issues.

Or do you really want to bring a young QB into this dumpster fire?

Yes, but a good one please.

Ok then its decided we keep Dak.....ola......Man give me a break the sooner we get Impostor Dak off this team the better.....he has a bad habit of killing good players on our team....

There is nothing enjoyable about this team. Win or lose, I feel almost nothing.

Bad football is bad football.

Needs a new coach, new coordinators, new QB, and some high draft picks.

I've adopted Cleveland as my pet team. Far more fun to watch.

After 22 years, there isn't an 11 game stretch bad enough to make me blink. I can handle it. I hope we don't score another point. But we probably will cause of Swaim. We should cut him. With a SWAT team present.
