Yet, so many for years and even now say Romo was better than Troy? lol

Yeah but to be fair, that included Troy...and Staubach saying that. So I am going with their expert opinion on those. Staubach and Romo were actually very similar with their escapes, and extending plays.

Troy is right, by the time you get to the NFL you either have accuracy or you don't. I cant remember a single QB that came into the league with poor accuracy and got significantly better with more playing time. Maybe it has happened, but I cant think of a single instance off the top of my head.

Dak is probably as accurate as he is ever going to get, that is just the reality of the situation.
Dak's worst accuracy stats are equal to Troy's best accuracy stats. lol

We'll said Trouty.

That's exactly where I was at. In fact, I said many times this off-season heading into this year that I'm giving Dak this entire 2018 to prove himself because I saw so many red flags in 2017. However, his play this season this far has been so poor I'm ready to pull the plug.
Let him play all season. Sink or swim . I don’t want any doubt remaining. If he suks that bad we’ll get a higher pick.

Can you imagine Jerry Rice and Michael Irvin being allowed to roam free without worrying about getting their heads taken off with Montana/Young and Aikman being damn near untouchable in the pocket?

And Ronnie Lott!!!!!

None of them have a better RB... Remember Emmitt was the core offensive player of the 90’s dynasty.

Only player at the time to win the league’s and SB MVP in the same season.

Again, here you go with trying to make comparisons between now and the early 90s Cowboys.

It's bizarre that you continually fail to grasp that the game is simply different today than it was then. In the 90s, this was a run first league. It's not that way now. It's a passing efficiency game now.

You overstate how bad he was. For example, in 1998, he was the 8th highest ranked passer in football.

You are making the stupid mistake of just looking at raw stats, comparing them to Dak's and making the conclusions that he was no better than Dak. It's a stupid analysis because it lacks context.

Don’t make him think too much if it will hurt his brain..

Exactly where I was, Cal... and where I am at now

Stud OLine?

Nate Newton came in 1986. Gogan, 1987. Mark Tuinei 1983.. Mark Stepnoski 1989..

What were they doing without Aikman?
How old are you? Did you even see that Great Wall of Dallas perform during the early-to-mid 90s?

Troy was good. Romo was good.

Troy won 3 SBs because the defense and ST were good and offense was balanced with Emmitt and Irvin. Troy did not win those SBs by carrying the Cowboys. He had a lot of help.

A lot of fans on this board keep whining about an elite QB.

I believe if we completely follow the 90s model by upgrading D and receiving, the Cowboys can compete for SB with Dak in today’s watered down NFL... since there are no teams dominant like the 90s Cowboys and 80s 49ers.

Hahaha, what's that got to do with anything??? 59% completions percentage is still poor no matter what era you play in.

Once again, without his stud receivers in Irvin, Harper and Novacek, along with no longer the Great Wall of Dallas blocking for him, Troy sucked as a passer! Heck, he even missed 5 games in 1998 and 2000 due to injuries and concussions suffered because of such lack of talent around him, which eventually forced his retirement.

It's got everything to do with it.

You struggle with context. As noted by others, the game was different. The reason why percentages were lower across the board then than compared to now is largely due to rules. DBs had way more leeway to rough up WRs in that day.

The fact you can't grasp what are fairly basic concepts and understandings of how the league has evolved is funny at this point.

Guys like Lott would have been decent still but nowhere near as effective. Lott would have been fined out of the league in about 3 seasons

lol Lott would have been ejected multiple times. Dude was a beast... I loved watching him play. You knew he wasn't right when he had the end of his pinky amputated to play. Marcus Allen said he wasn't right in the head when he hit the field lol. Switch went off on that man... lol.. I still watch his highlights they are brutal.
