Listen to him about what? This is what is foolish, so the majority didn't want Romo back in in 2016, majority rode Dak's jock in 2016. What was the staff to do? Draft a Qb 2017?

Be football men and not succumb to outside pressure, know that Dak's success is due to an outstanding oline and rb, a HoF tight end, a wr that would set the franchise record for tds and a slot wr that fit what he does best. They should have know that it was a perfect situation that won't always be perfect so when it's not how will he look but no that are no better than the fans that wanted Romo gone.

Those who keep touting Dak's accuracy #'s always FAIL to mention Most of his throws are 3 yards dump offs . Hard not to have a High % on those . Lets see what his completion % is past 10 yards .......

There was no coach in the NFL, or any former coach that would've sat Dak, they said as much. Even Jimmy. I didn't like it, but understood it.

This is the part of the debate when the obtuse one, you, starts making things up that were never said.

No one ever said Aikman was a stud from 97-00. No one. You made that up. And did so because you are now getting whipped from all sides on your points. So all that's left is to exaggerate what people are saying, shoot that down and think you've secured that victory.

It's kind of sad, actually.
He likes the strawman arguments...

2:30pm Saturday afternoon (Central time) ABC/ESPN2, is the QB we should be watching. Oregon.

Having posted that, you need talent to win in this league. The Cowboys have 3 talents on offense. The runner, and two linemen. Can't win like that.

On defense, we have 3 talents. Lawrence/Smith maybe LVE/Byron Jones.

So total amounts of talent on the team is around 6 through 8 out of 53 guys. That's not going to work. Not to mention, we have ZERO talent in the coaching department and ZERO talent in the front office. How does any team win like that? I'll tell you how, they don't. 22 years and counting.
all talents are not equal. without a QB, you need a lot more talent in other areas to be successful, like 4 talented OL, RB, a TE and a WR plus additional talent on defense to keep giving the ball back to offense for more opportunities. the most important talent is the QB.

I agree but he might have posed a competent threat to Jason Garrett. And that's why I feel it's never happened, despite numerous opportunities.
Your on to something there. Hence the hiring of our current QB coach.
Jerry would hate for one of his minions to overwhelm his organization chart with more football knowledge than what Jerry's comfortable with.

In 1991 Steve Beurlein sub for an injured Troy Aikman and finished the year 4-0, when Troy was healthy Jimmy let Steve start in the wildcard game against Chicago but after the Lions loss the next year it was back to Troy and the rest is history.

troy had emmitt and won 3 superbowls in the meantime we are in reverse with Zeke...and OL better than the 90s
But without Emmitt how did he do? What im trying to get through to you people is QBs need capable players who are capable of making plays. Ill post this until most of you are dead tired of hearing it and then ill probably keep posting it just to rile you up. All of you whine about the scrub WRs and the OL pass blocking. But ignore this when it comes to your hate on Dak. Every single one of you. When it comes to Dak damned be all the problems you whine about, its just he isnt good. But at the same time he's playing with all the players you guys whine about not being good enough.

Exactly, he has to improve on this or the team will eventually upgrade the position.

If you have a weakness in the NFL opposing DCs will kill you with it until you prove them wrong. Guys like Kaepernick and Tebow proved that. But plenty of QBs do go through these kind of adjustments, Drew Brees had a stretch like this in his second season as a starter and ended up having a HOF career.
A stretch of inaccuracy?

And I will say this over and over to rile you up.

Dak is making mistakes that have nothing to do with the OL or WRs. It’s not the OL or the WRs that force him into bad habits or mechanical breakdowns. It’s not the WR who causes him to short hop fairly easy throws when he’s on the move. It’s not the OL that causes him to miss a wide open WR so he can quickly dump it off.

You can use the WRs and OL to explain some issues. But if one truly watches him play, thinking he’s a really good QB held back by WRs or the OL is ridiculous.

I'm a Dak supporter and an optimist, so I'm holding out hope that he can get back to where he was as a rookie.

That being said, my wife didn't understand why I was shouting at the TV on that touchdown pass to Hurns on Sunday. From 2000 miles away on TV I could see Hurns was open well before Dak pulled the trigger, and it's been that way in a number of cases. Troy is chalking it up to anticipation and I'm inclined to agree, though it could be the mentality of trying to avoid mistakes and waiting until receivers are College open vs NFL open, which rarely happens and still requires accurate ball placement.
I think that's his problem too. He is so scared to make a mistake he's not going to throw into tight windows (for the most part) or throw guys open.
I don't know if he can improve his accuracy or not (I doubt it), but if he doesn't anticipate throws and let them go and trust his receivers and what he sees, he's going to be stuck at mediocre.

I'm also a Dak supporter, but the numbers bear it out.

First 24 games: 18-6 record, 39-8 TD to pick ratio, 15 games with a 100-plus rating.

Past 13 games: 6-7 record, 11-13 TD-pick ratio, 2 games with 100-plus rating.

With all due respect to Aikman, QB's that lack laser accuracy have been successful in the past. There are some playing right now- Cam Newton, Eli Manning, Joe Flacco, and Blake Bortles say hello.

The difference is the coaching staffs of those teams know how to run offenses and call plays that suit the talents of the players on hand. That's the area the Cowboys are screwed, and I fear they may have ruined Prescott.

Any coach worth their salt would have. Jimmy is part of the media that had an incentive to push the controversy.
