Can him now.
Team will not be any better right away, but would bring back some excitement to see what happens.
Especially to see what idiot takes the job under slobber mouth Jones.
Seriously though we all know why he has not been let go many years ago, lack of applicants wanting to work for that turd.
Heck, I remember after Jasons own brother stated 6 years ago that he thought he was not going to make it as coach the following season.

I voted after the season to jettison his carcass, but that's because of some vague notion that team moral..., oh wait, that's going in the tank already... uh, team cohesiveness..., uh, scratch that, it's a dumpster fire, oh yeah, momentum..., oh to hell with it. Can him and get it over with. What have we got to lose? Other than no one in their right mind will come here with JJ at the GM spot.

We’re 2-3 and only a half a game from 1st place in the East. Trade deadline has not passed. No time to fire the HC at this point. Maybe later, but not now.

Although I might agree with you, do you honestly believe we will make a trade? Jerry and SJ both said they believe in the players we have and just need to find the right combination...

if we do nothing, we get this mediocrity.
i rather suck than stay like this.
losing badly is fine, and with the way we draft, it means fast improvement
Actually it would be in constant rebuild mode. This FO sucks at making trades and signing FAs, so the draft is all they have. You can't hit on every player drafted and eventually we start losing players when those rookie deals are up. This is already Garrett's 2nd rebuild.

Exactly this with the added factor that Garrett will not improve the offense.
I’m not in complete agreement there. Garrett was a good OC. Let’s see if he can still coach an offense and call plays. Linnehan is just not getting the job done. If Garrett cannot improve this offense, I am wrong and it’s time to fire Garrett.

Fire Garrett, put in an interim "Coach" who'll gladly tank the rest of the season and move on after, and hire a new coach and staff right after the season ends. Not that I trust Jerry to actually give a coaching staff the tools they need to succeed...but good gosh, Linehan sucks at his job.

If you fire Garrett right now 1/3rd the way through the season, who are you going to bring in? Plus, whomever you bring in will want to bring in his own scheme(s) and assistant coaches, so this means this season will be lost even though it just started.

Might as well keep Garrett and Linehan for the rest of this season and see if they can improve the team and scheme. Use the rest of the season to start looking for a new and more innovative but proven coach (even if from college) in case Garrett, Linehan and staff can't right this ship and make the playoffs.

Making the playoffs and improving performance should be the litmus test.

I need to know who comes next.

Gailey looked better after Campo. Switzer looked better after both of them.

I voted for the middle of the season. I want to see what happens the next few games. I'm convinced he must go, have been for years...So much so my family is sick of hearing it from me...lol

My point is even though I've been convinced for some time, Jerry has to be convinced. A few embarrassing blowouts and a 2-7 record will hopefully do it.

Promote Richard to HC, fire Scotty after 1 game. Then promote either Brown, Nussmeier, Lal or Moore to interim OC. See how it goes and if you want to keep Richard as HC and rebuild the OC and team.

If not, hire a new HC after the season and let him bring in his own staff. Which is a dream, since Jerry will want to do that and screw up the chemistry.

I voted fire immediately but I'd like to know 1 thing. Does the HC have authorization to fire any other coaches? All of the changes made last summer but zero coaches were actually fired. The only way firing garret helps is if he is handcuffing linehan. If he is, send him packing then see what linehan can do. If that's not the case then i'd rather fire linehan now. Either way both should be done, but more importantly a new paradime needs to be put in place where the HC is empowered to hire/fire his staff not the Jones's.

Fire JG and bring in an offensive guy. See if he can run plays that Dak and Zeke excel at. See if he can sign a #1 WR. See if he can draft a QB who can compete for the starting job. After next season you should know whether or not to resign Dak or let the rookie they drafted take over.
