Look at Hopkins 2016 season (954 yards with 4 TD's), everybody needs a good QB and Dez didn't have one in Dak, just like Hopkins didn't with Osweiler.

And Dez still, statistically, had a better season playing in 12 and a half games (missed a lot of the Chicago game). Hopkins played 16 games in 2016, had 70+ catches, very few TDs, and couldn't break 1,000 yards. Dez had 50 catches and nearly 800 yards and 8 TDs.

Anyone saying he wasn't playing like a #1 are, frankly, either holding a grudge or not very smart.

Even more hilarious is you trying to include me in this ludicrous argument and acting like you have some teeth in your argument. You didn't even notice that I don't join in, did you?

I've questioned Dak from the start. I did not think he had as good a rook season as most did. And to me it was plain as day that he needed developing. At this point, he's not good. He desperately needs the right voice in his ear and a scheme to fit his skillset, and he's getting neither. Is it hopeless? Of course not. However, the more time goes by the less chance he has of "getting it". That's just pure history logic, nothing special.

If I'm condescending, I apologize. I found it highly amusing that you came in roaring and whining that no one wanted to participate in your little slapfest thread!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Now that is hilarious!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why would I notice you not joining in? Roaring? Whining? I did mention it but roaring and whining sounds like hyperbole but hey, I apologize if it came off that way. And like I said, there were plenty of participants, just not from Dak supporters. As for my argument having teeth? What argument is that? I simply asked people to tell me how they would rank Dak among his peers. That side didn't get involved because when you sit down and start putting an objective list together...well, you know what it looks like.

That's not an argument old friend, that's looking for opinions. Opinions I would argue against if I disagree. If you haven't noticed, discussing and debating opinions is really the only point of these boards aside from some small talk here and there.

Cheers.

He said that because he played with a #2 WR (Dez) in 2016 and had success.

Stating he did not need a #1 WR did not mean getting rid of a #2 WR for a bunch of #3-#5 WRs.
Uck what u talking bout, Dak needs like 3 #1WRs to save him. Dez was a star in 2016. You know you at home throwing up the X unless just don't like Dez, haha.

The Cowboys score 16.6 points per game. That is 30th in the NFL.

The Cowboys allow 19.2 points per game. That is 5th in the NFL.

....796 yards on a run heavy team. Watson has thrown 40+ times in every game he has played in this year, so yeah no crap, Hopkins is going to have more catches/yards with more opportunity.

Show me a #2 in this league on a run heavy team that puts up 1,000+ yards and double digit TDs. You're insane.

I mean, you JUST mentioned it - if he played 16 games he would have had over 1,000 yards and double digit TDs. I have no idea what world you are living in bud, but that is #1 WR numbers.

Frankly, I'm sick of having to step in and educate you on stuff, dude. Do research, look at context.

This guy joined and every single post has been defending that wannabe QB. Why waste your time? Look at his posting history.

Those are solid WR #2 numbers for Dez. The top 10 WRs in 2016 had 1,136 - 1,448 receiving yards.

“The Cowboys need to get Dez’s $70M back” - Josh Norman

Norman limited Dez to 2 catches for 26 yards.

Dez was a cancer. Him not being here or in the NFL has little to do with his talent although if you don’t think he has regressed you are either holding a grudge or not very smart. He’s not coming back so get over it.

Stop spamming videos.

I just gave you the numbers, genius.

12 and a half games, nearly 800 yards and 8 TDs. Show the #2 in the league that averages that many yards and TDs. If Dez played a full 16 games, he would have had around 70-75 catches, 1,000+ yards, and double digit TDs. That's on a run first team....

Him having one game where he had 2 catches doesn't say anything. Julio Jones gets held to 2 catches every other week, Antonio Brown looked like hot trash without Big Ben a couple years ago....

Dez played like a #1 and your rando number about what you consider to be a "#1" is lacking. Context matters - stop spamming, stop trolling, make an argument.

You didn't address the argument - we were discussing 2016. I don't care if Dez comes back or not, he's a WR so I don't care much about him because the position is overrated.

Someone claimed he wasn't playing like a #1 in 2016, I countered that. You're always on the wrong side in every debate. Hop out, boy.

Could any of us be successful under Garrett, Linehan & newspaper route boy Kellen Moore?? Defenses have called out every play they call at the line of scrimmage. It has been that way since Garrett's early years.

Garrett said the O was performing badly and did not feel confident they could make 1 yard on a 4th & 1 with the game on the line. He condemned himself because he is saying he does not have a play devised to help them execute to win a football game.

Dak Prescott wasn't the problem against the Houston Texans

Some day, historians are going to look at the Week 5 loss that the Dallas Cowboys sustained against the Houston Texans and think that Dak Prescott played a bad game. The evidence is there. The Cowboys scored only 16 points. Prescott threw two interceptions and gained only 208 yards through the air. His quarterback rating was 66.4. Based on his poor play in the four weeks prior, it wouldn't be a stretch to just tack one extra bad game onto his ledger. And that is a shame, because for once, Prescott was not remotely the problem against the Texans.

Those two interceptions Prescott threw? Both tipped... by his own receivers. Granted, they weren't perfect throws, but most throws aren't. It is reasonable for a quarterback to expect his receivers to be able to, you know, stretch. Prescott didn't throw those balls 10 yards over their heads. He missed slightly. But when you miss at all with this group of Cowboys receivers, you miss entirely.

Speaking of missing, Prescott made the Texans do quite a bit of that. He was pressured relentlessly in this game, but he was sacked only twice. He escaped perhaps half a dozen sacks based on nothing more than body control and athleticism.

Dak isn’t accurate which leads to tipped ball interceptions and missed chances for YAC. Didn’t read past the first sentence of the second paragraph.

The bolded part is very important. What did he have during his rookie season that he doesn't have now? Romo on the sidelines talking to him about what the defense is doing and how to go about beating them. Now he has...Kellen Moore...He can't even talk to Linehan, he has to go through Moore. I don't think Dak is the answer but man, this staff certainly isn't helping him.

Hurns needs to STHU, learn Dak's called audibles and run them correctly, instead of opening his mouth!!!

Here is one of the miscommunications between Dak & Allen Hurns. After scanning the defense, Dak changes the play & expects Hurns to run some type of a quick-hitting route (slant would be my best guess) but Hurns runs a fade, forcing Dak to hold the ball & get crushed as he throws pic.twitter.com/rDMmpLkpJb
— John Owning (@JohnOwning) October 10, 2018

Dak may not be going anywhere this season, but if he doesn't perform better (he IS part of the problem) you can bet we either draft his replacement or sign a QB that can come in and compete.
lol I guess you didnt hear what jerry said either.
There will be no drafting a high round qb and no vets to replace him
