I recall seeing " highlights" of the games and him dropped back in the pocket just HEAVE LAUNCHING 60 yard deep strikes
Yeah I'm not sure if those highlights told the true story. I loved watching McNair play but he wasn't considered a accurate passer by any means.

From the results from last game, more fans will be wanting Dak to become a more of a running quarterback. Fans have been calling for him to run more to take pressure off of his throws. Is this going to lower his longevity in the NFL.

He's not a pocket passer so what would you call him?
Right now he’s the 26th ranked passing QB in the league and has been at about that level for almost a year.

But I’ve heard “ Hybrid” as a description for Dak.

All I know is he’s more effective when he runs the ball more.

As far as longevity or running more shortening his career??

How long of a career did you think he will have if he doesn’t run the ball more?

Would we rather have a few great years or 10+ average years?

Do what makes you most effective and manage the effects.

I'm no scout, I'm just an average fan. I would say he's no dual threat quarterback. I think he's more of a run quarterback. From your chart, it looks like a quarterback last on average 4.4 years?

Steve Young ran for over 4K Yards..

How many realized Young ran that much.

Young was a very good runner. He was a pass first QB who ran for a lot of easy first downs when the D played coverage and if they were foolish enough to try to stop him from running he threw it to the receivers they let go.

How long do losing quarterbacks last in the NFL?

Name some losing quarterbacks and how long their career was in the NFL.

I'm pretty sure Archie Manning is the most games under .500 in QB record. QB who lose a lot of games tend to lose their job. Same with coaches.

Yep he ran upright and took some serious shots ....
Cunningham, Young, Vick, McNair, Wilson, Newton....and Flutie, Landry, Harbaugh, Elway, Tarkenton, Staubach.

Try naming running QBs who didn’t last in the NFL due to health....not easy. The statue in the pocket guys often are gone due to injury more than the mobile QBs. And with modern medicine, when a mobile/running QB doesn’t last, it’s not because of the occasional injury. It’s because he couldn’t pass and didn’t win.

Do people think Mike White was drafted by accident? If the Cowboys really thought they were set with two young QBs already on the roster, why draft another one?

They had their doubts, regardless of what Jerry says publicly. Dak is the guy for now. Whether he's still the guy two years from now remains to be seen, so play to his strengths and get the most out of him. He's not shown enough yet to be worried about protecting him for a decade.
