It's their job to keep the other team from scoring no matter how they do it. I couldn't care less if the D gets zero turnovers all season as long as they keep team scoring 17 points or less. If they do that it then becomes the job of the offense to win the games because the D more than did their job. We gave up 13 points today on D, we should win this game, but our offense is putrid
but the defense needs to put up 14 so Dak can keep putting up his 6 points. :)

You mean that the D didn;t let them score? C'mon bud for the season we are giving up 17 points a game (2nd in the league) If your offense can't score 20+ in the NFL then you are screwed. You are smart enough to know that
Alex Smith missed a wide open receiver in the end zone or maybe he's a tight end....I Don't even know who the hell Sprinkle is or where he came from but he was wide open.

he missed three wide-open guys on the same play and we ended up with a defensive touchdown for the other team

You're the one who said "let's call it what it is"

In light of that statement i'd say that's a fairly important point to discuss
Swaim was open but he wasn't getting the 1st down. Let's call it what it is but you're making assumptions based on what you see from your couch and what's actually happening on the field.

Dak wasn't great today, but he hardly lost it.

This was an entire team loss, that was sealed by horrific coaching.

i must to differ about the whole 'team loss ' thing. When the road defense holds the the home team to thirteen points in regulation time thru four quarters - Dak's gift at about the four-minute-mark notwithstanding... it should be relatively easy to surmise that the PROBLEM is with the offense. Well...this is now the THIRD such road loss this season because the Dallas offense cannot even mount a measly twenty point output.

To put it succinctly - the offense flat out SUCKS. And nobody should draw more heat than Dak.

Not even because the fumble on the goal line. Dak is not getting the ball out fast enough, not throwing the receivers open. He also constantly did not see open receivers for crying out loud. I like Dak but he has not improved his pass read skills. He should also get his eyes examined.

I'm tired of this win on lose one BS we have endured for so dang long. Arggggg!

Yeah, and I'm tired of people like you blaming Dak for everything. Dak played just as well as the Skins QB. The Defenses were fairly even , except handling the run...What lost this game was the "O LIne," who unlike last week, played like crap. Every QB I've seen misses open WRs when they are under constant pressure. The O line in this game couldn't run block, couldn't pass protect, and by the way...it's damn hard to "throw a receiver open" when most of the time you're running to save your ***. No. the O line's costly drive killing and game changing penalties is what actually lost this game.

You are aware this is the status of this team's receivers/TE's.

Geoff Swaim – 59 snaps (Swaim was drafted in the seventh round)

Allen Hurns – 38 snaps (Hurns was not drafted)

Cole Beasley – 37 snaps (Beasley was not drafted)

Deonte Thompson – 36 snaps (Thompson was not drafted)

Michael Gallup – 24 snaps (Gallup is a third-round rookie)

Tavon Austin – 23 snaps (Austin was a first-rounder who needed to resurrect his career and was traded for next-to-nothing if you agreed to take his already-reduced contract)

Blake Jarwin – 18 snaps (Jarwin was not drafted)

Rico Gathers – 7 snaps (Gathers was drafted in the sixth round after having not played football since eighth grade)

Brice Butler – 1 snap (Butler was drafted in the seventh round in 2013 and recently unemployed)

Now tell me again Dak is not throwing the ball quick enough and that the receivers are open.
BOOM!!!

Game...Set...Match! This receiving group has no high quality talent. Throw in the porous and putrid Oline, well, voila! You get what we saw today at DC.

Swaim was wide open and had room to pick up some yards

The defense gave up 13 points... 1 TD and two FGs

If you only give up 13 points in this Offensive happy NFL you should win... hell the Browns scored 20+ points today lol

Swain and Zeke were both wide open.

Can't blame Dak for eveything (which I think almost everyone would agree with), but we can blame everything on the OL? Is that how this works?

What's so amazing to me is that every week, there's a Dak is horrible thread. No matter what. He can't throw deep balls. He miss open receivers. He's not accurate. Well let me tell ya......most weeks....this o-line is below average. This d-line hasn't played that great in a few weeks. Receivers are still dropping passes and not running accurate routes. Let's not even talk about this coaching staff can't make adjustments, or have good time management or give us opportunities to win. Yet, some of you have typed this Dak thread before the game starts. EVERY game by EVERY QB misses an open receiver. This isn't just with Dak. Does Dak need work? Of course. He's a 3rd year QB. But, Dak is a gamer. This dude gutted it out today, despite when most, including me, thought this game was over after the fumble, and just about gave us an opportunity to win. But to say Dak lost this game? That's funny. And you don't have a clue. There's a whole team out there. I've never seen one player make the whole team lose and I've played many years in this sport.

It's sad when someone makes a post that makes no logical point. It's sadder when someone else praises and acts like it kills any other arguments.

None of that matters on the field. The guys get open or they don't. Dak makes the reads and throws or he doesn't. It's not, "hey this guy was a 6th rounder, so you can't expect Dak to throw to him just because he's open. Now, if he was a first rounder, then obviously, Dak would make that throw."

It's ridiculous.
