#21 on Dallas just got better...let's see what happens. They gave up next years 1st rd pick where they would have gone after a WR anyhow...

Even if you think they are similar, the distinction is that the Rams were looking to go from a 12-4 team to a Super Bowl favorite with that addition. We're looking to go from a 7-9 team that probably needs that 1st for a QB to a 9-7 team.

Trading a first when you're maybe one player away makes total sense. Trading a first when your offense is abysmal, you QB is lost and your head coach hasn't improved anything in over 8 years, is absolutely ignorant. I swear this FO makes moves just to see their names in the paper. This isnt as bad as the Galloway and Williams trades, but it's still laughably bad.

The Cowboys are now the worst run franchise in the NFL.

The problem with this move is, it’s very unlikely to pay dividends in 2018. And his price goes up a lot in 2019.

Also the issue of declining production

The Cooks situation is a little different.

-Cooks is one of the most consistent receivers in football, stat wise.
-McVay really, REALLY values a deep threat to open up his offense.
-The Rams have Goff on a rookie contract and are all in to win in that window
-The team was legit "one step away" from contending.

We're just pissing away future picks on a drop machine to prop up another 8-8 season.

That’s not how you judge individual personnel. I’m just showing you that there’s a lot of similar traits. I understand we’re probably an average team. But the way Jerry is thinking is if he had a guy who could’ve made 1-2 game changing plays vs the Texans / Skins we should be 5-2 right now.

That's now how you judge personnel moves. It's a long term process this team-building thing is. Does anyone really think this team is an Amari Cooper away from contending? No, so this is a shallow/short-term move made out of pure desperation. I would say the Rams' move is also desperation in anticipation of facing the Chiefs or the Pats but that makes sense for a Super Bowl run.

The Rams also have their certain QB of the future. I guess we do too, which for them to determine at this time is mind blowing.

yall are some massive homers if you think cooper is better than cooks. I dont give one turd about how much talent he's got.

Cooks produces every year and now he's in for another huge year in LA for a 4th straight productive season. Amari Cooper has been dropping passes and looking like he doesn't want to be on the field for A SEASON AND A HALF now.

You give me Cooks everytime, all the time.

Talent for talent they're close, the difference is the qbs Cooks had, they make WRs better

I get it some are mad and I know watching draft night will be miserable without a 1st rounder. But before you bash Jerry . The genius rams gave up a 1st to get Cooks who in my opinion is a similar type WR. Speedy and good route runner. I’m going to hold my judgement and see how it plays out before I get pissed.

I will judge this trade with the WR’s that will be drafted in the 1st round in 2019. IMO we would’ve gone WR anyways.

I also think that this is Jerry’s way of letting Garrett know that if he fails. He’s gone.

Cooks is a vastly better player than Cooper. We just gave up a 1st rounder for someone no one else would give a 2nd for.

Who cares if this is "Jerry's way of letting Garrett know"? Only a fool doesn't understand Garrett should have never been hired, and he's done nothing to prove the conventional wisdom wrong in 9 years, or more appropriately, going on 12 years.

The Cowboys are on the verge of falling to the bottom of the league, and just gave up a #1 to get there.

yeah because it’s really hard to tell the difference between the cowboys situation. Exact some scenarios

The Rams had already secured their franchise QB, and had the right Head Coach in place, and they were poised to make a Super Bowl run.

We did this almost halfway through a season in which we have a losing record, and both our QB and HC are on the verge of being run out of town.

We also have a Qb who can't find wrs who are clearly open issue. Not sure Cooper fixes that one.

As many have pointed out, I think Goff is a better QB than Prescott and is afforded better coaching as well.

Did Cooks only have a year and a half left on his deal and cost 14 mil for the only year left?

So is this just the FO trying to prove Dak is a true franchise QB? Can’t wait to see the board crash when Dak continues to be mediocre and gets $30 million per year.

I agree. I know most of us are worried or upset about this trade, but Cooper is a quality wide receiver. He was one of the bright spots in Oakland, and I actually watch the Raiders almost every week. His dropping passes is overrated. I thought Dez dropped a lot of passes too, but people here seem to love Dez unconditionally.

Cooper will upgrade our WR core, but again, can Dak get him the ball? That is the biggest question mark we have right now (aside from the playcalling and coaching).
