It's simply results Randy.

It's year 8. If the Cowboys fail to make the playoffs this year, that would be 2 playoff appearances in 8 years. One playoff win.

At what point, Randy, do you demand or expect more from this coaching staff? Or do we (and you) never make that demand? Do we just continue to go down this path of mediocrity where we haven't contended for a SB since 1996?

You're living in the old world of coaching if you haven't been paying attention the players are fighting against that way of coaching is why now they have so many days off of practice during the bye week and training camp
You're dancing around the issue. You claimed I was a typical fan and wouldn't give credit where credit was due. I gave a recent example of where I actually praised Garrett and highlighted the fact that Garrett fans didn't seem to take issue with Garrett yelling after years of supporting the clapping method on the sidelines because Garrett didn't need to yell. You're still defending the not yelling approach, yet won't come near admitting Garrett shouldn't have yelled.

So I ask, who is the "typical fan"?

You're making no sense whatsoever why should anybody say he shouldn't have yelled. In my case I have no problem with him clapping why should that mean he shouldn't have yelled when he did. I don't care that he yelled just as I don't care that he claps what I said is he doesn't have to yell as most of you feel he has to do

 what does the Manster know about football
I don't know, what does Ray Lewis know about football? How bout Aikman? How bout other former players who have called out the offensive scheme?

I learned a long time ago not to use former player's/NFL analyst to back my opinion or narrative up. For every one that backs my opinion, there is another one who shoots it down. They're no different than fans, they don't always agree.

"He can't go out and play for the players " is just a dumb thing to say and says coaching isn't that important. Coaches can't go out and play but the can put there players in positions to win and JG has failed to do that consistently.

The best part about this?

There are some in this thread using White, a former player, as proof that criticisms of Garrett are largely unwarranted, but some of those same people throw a hissy fit when Aikman or Romo have some not so flattering things to say about Dak.

Let’s see. Who am I going to listen to?

A bunch of anonymous disgruntled fans on the internet or a Cowboy Hall of Famer. Lol

Pretty sure you get the idea.

The idea is, for people not to think everyone in some way, employed by JJ, which Randy is not. That they need to support everything Jerry.
So what if he does stuff for Star Tours. I don't think Jerry was personally negotiating some deal with Randy to do so.

But if someone wants to call it as he is directly employed by Jerry, then so be it.
I am sure there are some that are employed by Star tours, don't say...I work for Star tours. they say I work for the Dallas Cowboys, but don't say...I work for Jerry. But most will say,...I work for Star tours.

We dont know, we do have different opinions as you rightly pointed out great players have different views on same football discussion we see it all the time on sports talk shows. The opinion that coaches cant play for players arent however inherently dumb. They may or may not be responsible from the players execution. Jason's fault is he's taking too long to buiid a contender. IMHO. I like him

Frankly, if this team doesn't make the playoff again for the 6th time in 8 years, yeah, I think I might listen to the disgruntled fans over Randy White.

Because at some point, you have to question the intelligence of people like Randy if the team just continues to fail under this current leadership and yet people like Randy keep trying to tell you how great Garrett is.

Check out @sportsbull’s Tweet:

Come on guys and gals!!!! This is not a high school pep rally. We are talking about professional football coaches.
It's no secret, the JG is the laughing stock of the league. Zero innovation, dont know what the clapper does. Doesn't coach any facet of this team. Can't manage the clock.
He could not get a job coaching a high school team after he leaves the cowboys.
Still can we were stupid enough to trade a number for Amari Cooper!!

Explain to me why making the playoffs is the only measurement of the job Garrett is doing?

A response that dumb doesn't deserve further conversation

This is a joke, right?

What's the point of even fielding a team then if making the playoffs and trying to win a championship isn't the goal?

Playoffs, championships - that's how most coaches are inevitably judged by their owners (well accept our owner and the Bengals owner, apparently).

Holy hell.

Fans confuse who the current leadership of this team is. It’s not Garrett. It’s Jerry.

If the Cowboys have success Jerry is in line to take the credit and why he has a HC like Garrett.

Most NFL HC are held accountable without playoff success because they have last word on personnel and coaching decisions.

Ahhhh, it's Jerry's fault excuse.

Here's reality. Jerry is not a good GM. And that not good GM hired a not good head coach.

That's just the reality at this point unless Garrett does some bizarre 180 in his career trajectory. The longer we continue to muddle along the less likely he'll do that.
